If you’re interested in attending an industry event that will offer a deep dive into all things metal, medical, and dental 3D printing, then the third annual Additive Manufacturing Strategies summit, co-hosted by 3DPrint.com and SmarTech Analysis, will be right up your alley.

For its first year, the event was held in Washington D.C., but moved to Boston last year, which is where it will remain for the 2020 summit. The event will be held at Boston’s Seaport World Trade Center in the city’s Innovation Center from February 11-12, 2020, and early bird registration rates will end this Wednesday, October 30.

Titled “The Business of 3D Printing: Medicine, Dentistry and Metals,” AMS 2020 will feature the event’s established medical and dental coverage, while also adding a separate track for metals and new materials.

“As usual, the conference offers over 30 expert speakers, with this year’s focus being on end-user experiences, as well as the vendor, materials company and regulatory perspectives. As always with AMS, attendees will learn the most effective procedures and business opportunities in the critical sectors of 3D printing on which AMS 2020 is focused,” the website states for AMS 2020.

As mentioned, we already have many speakers already lined up – practitioners, technologists, and vendors who will share their expertise with attendees at a variety of sessions over the two-day conference. In addition, SmarTech Analysis will be presenting its latest forecasts and intellectual property analysis for the metal, medical, and dental sectors.

So far, these speakers include:

  • Dr. Aamir Abad — Senior Research and Development Engineer, Global Advanced Metals
  • Scott Dunham — Vice President of Research, SmarTech Analysis
  • Oleksandra Korotchuk — Business Development Manager, BASF 3D Printing Solutions
  • Justin Marks — Founder and CEO, Arfona
  • Jonah Myerberg — Co-founder and CTO, Desktop Metal
  • Bob Zollo — President, Avante Technology

A variety of sessions will be held during the two-day conference, ranging from keynote presentations and fireside chats to panel discussions and debates. A wide range of topics will be covered in these sessions; examples include emerging trends for 3D printing in healthcare, compact metal 3D printers, medical and dental forecasts, the future of metal binder jetting, 3D printing for oral surgery, supply chains for metal AM service bureaus, 3D bioprinting, metal 3D printing for automotive and aerospace applications, and many more.

There will also be a focused exhibition hall at AMS 2020, with exhibitors to date including Arfona, MSC Software, and Additive Orthopaedics. Global Advanced Metals is a platinum sponsor of the event, and ten media sponsors have been lined up, including 3DHEALS, the 3D Printing Media Network, and Women in 3D Printing. Additionally, there will be plenty of time for networking during AMS 2020, and our popular Startup Competition is returning. Last year, three finalists competed for the chance to win a $15,000 investment from VC fund Asimov Ventures, and after presenting short pitches and answering questions from the judges, OsseoPrint 3D was named the winner, beating Twikit and EXIOM. You can apply to the 2020 AMS Startup Competition here.
