ob1There is no doubt that 3D printing will play an expansive role in the future of just about every industry out there. As the technology progresses, the adoption rates rise, and companies begin considering an investment in 3D printing, there will be an extraordinary need for educators and programs related to this new field. We are already seeing a tremendous increase in the number of jobs being created based on additive manufacturing, and with the supply of qualified skilled employees seemingly dwindling, programs educating professionals about the up-and-coming technology is in strong demand.

QA, a Slough, England based company, that is among the leaders when it comes to providing education and training within the UK, has noticed this demand, thus has decided to team with ObjectForm, a 3D printing research, development and consulting business, to create their own 3D printing courses. The courses, which were developed by ObjectForm and will be provided through QA’s platform, are aimed towards technicians as well as business leaders in the UK. There will be a total of four different courses, which range in length from one day to five days a piece.

“3D printing is a new and exciting technology that will revolutionize manufacturing processes and significantly impact a huge range of industries as well as domestic consumers and will serve as another component in the engine of the circular economy,” explained Adrian Jakeman, Head of IT Training, QA. “I’m delighted that we have been able to work with ObjectForm to bring these new courses to our curriculum and to be able to provide our customers with an insight into this new area of technology.”

The first course will run from October 10-14 at QA’s London and Leeds training centers, with future classes to be announced shortly. Below are the four different course, along with a brief summary of what they have to offer:

Advanced 3D Printing
Geared towards technicians who have some experience with 3D printing, this is a five day course which will give students a hands-on experience in printing their own objects. The course also provides details on the various materials used within the additive manufacturing space.ob-3

Fundamentals of 3D Printing
This one-day course is geared more towards the beginners who have little to no 3D printing experience or knowledge. It will provide a basic overview of the industry and the capabilities of the technology in general.

The Business Opportunities and Impacts of 3D Printing
This course is created for business leaders who want to better understand how 3D printing can improve their businesses. Also a one day course, it is perfect for those with little to no past knowledge within the industry

Understanding 3D Printing
This 3 day course is for those who have some knowledge within the industry, and want a more specific overview of what 3D printing is, and what it has to offer. Students will learn how to use a 3D printer, as well as control the design software involved in modelling.

A full overview of all the courses offered in this partnership can be found here, along with the complete PDF versions of the class outlines. Are you intending to take any of these 3D printing courses? Let’s hear your thoughts in the 3D printing courses forum thread on 3DPB.com.
