Since the multi-tiered Dubai 3D Printing Strategy was launched in 2016 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, we’ve seen all sorts of innovation coming out of the United Arab Emirates city-state, ranging from medical and public transportation to research and construction. The goal is to become the global 3D printing leader by 2030, and Dubai is well on its way. In addition to the 3D printed R&Drone laboratory, Dubai is also working to develop a 3D printed skyscraper and a 3D printed residential building. Last summer, Dubai also launched the Dubai Future Accelerators program, which aims to bring startups and government agencies together to use innovative technology, like 3D printing, to solve the issues of the future.

Keeping in line with Dubai’s 3D Printing Strategy, Immensa Technology Labs, the UAE’s top additive manufacturing company, just launched the first 3D printing facility in Dubai. Immensa, which is focused on research and development, was founded in 2016 as the first privately owned company to specialize in the development and advancement of 3D printing in the UAE. It provides comprehensive additive manufacturing solutions, and has established its own proprietary AM techniques to fabricate and produce objects that would otherwise be impossible to create. Immensa’s team is made up of specialized, multi-discipline professionals, and the company also offers full consultation to clients on how to integrate 3D printing into their existing manufacturing processes.

“There are ample opportunities for organisations in the UAE to adopt AM to enhance their efficiencies and competitiveness, and we are focused on providing world-class and viable 3D printing solutions,” said Fahmi Al-Shawwa, CEO of Immensa Technology Labs. “Our team is passionate about 3D printing, design and manufacturing, and we cover the entire process to help our clients every step of the way, from design concepts and material options to technology selection, 3D printing production and post-production processing.”

According to the company, its groundbreaking facility has at least eight different 3D printing systems, and offers more than 30 materials. Immensa offers 3D printing design services, and has the ability to build and manufacturer one-off prototypes and production-quality parts and components for multiple industries. Immensa’s facility offers a variety of 3D printing technologies, including Material Jetting, Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Stereolithography (SLA), and Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM).

“We believe in the extraordinary potential of 3D printing and its myriad benefits across all fields of business, where it can reduce costs, redefine productivity and fuel innovation,” said Al-Shawwa. “We are pleased to be opening our doors and supporting the Dubai 3D Printing Strategy, as we are confident that AM is the next big step in the world of manufacturing. This technology will support a new era of innovation by unlocking a world of fresh possibilities.”
