Inside 3D Printing Conference and Expo Arrives in Hong Kong in Late August

3D Printing is becoming a world-wide phenomenon. It is no longer restricted to only certain locales or areas around the world. The technology is quickly being adopted by both industrial leaders as well as individual at-home users.

ON August 26-27, one of the world’s largest 3D printing conferences and expos will debut in Hong Kong, China. The Inside 3D Printing Conference and Expo is Hong Kong’s first ‘significant’ 3D printing trade show to arrive in the city.

“3D printing was invented quite some time ago, but due to the printers’ limited capabilities and the high costs associated with 3D printing during the technology’s infancy, it wasn’t really adopted or used extensively – until recently,” explained Alan M. Meckler, Chairman and CEO of Mediabistro Inc. “Looking at how fast the 3D printing technology is currently developing, I think it’s only a matter of time until 3D printing completely revolutionizes all aspects of manufacturing. Hong Kong, being the gateway city to the world’s capital of manufacturing – China, is one of the most suitable locations for us to host Inside 3D Printing. If anyone wants to ride this upcoming economic boom, this conference and exposition is something not to be missed.”

The two-day long event will feature 18 different seminars focusing on art, aerospace, bioprinting, 3D printing start-ups, as well as the makers’ revolution. The morning keynote session on August 27 will be hosted by Stratasys. Keynote speakers include Nave Rachman, Technical Director of Stratasys Asia Pacific; Terry Wohlers, Principal Consultant and President of Wohlers Associates, Inc.; and Michele Marchesan, Chief Opportunity Officer at 3D Systems.

Terry Wohlers will be hosting the opening keynote, which is titled “The Next Frontier in 3D Printing”, while Rachman will host day two’s morning keynote, which is titled “Manufactory application in 3D Printing: Direct Digital manufacturing”.

I personally had the opportunity to attend this event in the past, and from experience would highly recommend that anyone who is interested in technology in general, should attend.
