robouniverseRobots will be taking over San Diego in December! That can only mean one of two things: the machines have finally begun to win, or RoboUniverse Conference & Expo is coming up. Fortunately for those of us not looking forward to seeing Terminator coming to a real life near us quite yet, it’s the latter, as MecklerMedia begins to truly gear up for a look at the latest in robotics technologies. Details are coming at us more often now as preparations are underway; earlier this month, we took a look at confirmed keynotes, platinum sponsors, and other announced details, and today we’re excited to hear more about the agenda.

Taking place December 14-16th at the San Diego Convention Center, RoboUniverse’s agenda has now been announced, with an organization revolving around four primary themes. The conference will take a close look at robotics uses in the fields of:17680483550_09bd35f096_z

  • Agriculture
  • Cognitive Science
  • Drones
  • Manufacturing & Logistics

The event will also feature tracks covering Business & Investment, STEM Education, IoT (Internet of Things) & Robotics, and Healthcare.

Covered in the Agriculture track, MecklerMedia has announced, will be explorations in “innovation in farming practices, including big AG, specialty crops, and vineyards.” Representatives will be present from organizations including Driscoll’s, E&J Gallo Winery, Grimmway Farms, and many more.

Cognitive Science tracks on the books will include “applications for building the ‘brains’ of future robotic applications and involve emerging mathematical algorithms to not only solve common business problems, but also detect and predict future patterns.” Sessions will “explore research in AI, machine learning, deep learning, knowledge engines, neural networks, and more.” If you’re interested in seeing where man and machine converge, these sessions may just be for you!

Sessions will take a look at “how one can develop and define a business based on drones; build and maintain your own drone; accessorize your drone; and understand current and future drone applications in action.” The Drone Zone will also feature its own area dedicated entirely to this area of study, with drone demos and discussions happening throughout the event.

Manufacturing & Logistics events will explore “the latest advances in collaborative robotics and mobile robots for manufacturing and materials handling.” The use of high-tech equipment is playing an ever-increasing role in every area of industry, and sessions in this track will allow attendees to “explore how collaborative and mobile autonomous robots are changing how goods are produced and managed.”robouniverse tracks
