This has certainly been another busy week for new 3D printer introductions. Like every week, we get a bunch of emails from new companies, or tips from our readers, and then go off to investigate each new device. Usually zyyx-1the task is rather mundane, “Yay, another 3D printer which works exactly like all these other printers on the market, but is $1.50 cheaper….”

This week has actually been different. We have seen some innovative new machines, pushing the limits as to what’s possible. One of these machines is the new ZYYX 3D Printer, designed in Sweden.

When you first look at the ZYYX Printer, you will notice it does not have the look of your every day, run of the mill 3D printer. It is enclosed, both on the front and on top. This enclosure is to ensure that the fumes within the printer stay within the printer, as well as keep the build environment pristine. Yes, I know, we have seen enclosed 3D printers before, it’s nothing new, but the ZYYX features a fan which circulates the air within the build chamber, pushing it out of the printer through an active carbon filter to remove the fumes which melting filament is known to give off.

Another nice feature included with the ZYYX machine is the surface-compensating build plate system. With the help of this system, there is no longer a need to adjust your print bed prior to any project. The printer head actually has an integrated probe which is able to take measurements of the build plate in certain areas, adjusting the print plate, ensuring a care free printing experience. Since the printer is enclosed, it is also nice to have the ability to remove the build plate after an object has finished printing.

The Following are the basic specifications for the ZYYX 3D Printer:
