images (1)It’s all about the pursuit of excellence while having fun and gaming within the PC format, accompanied by the luxury of virtual reality. Eschewing what they often consider to be the more elementary console, seeking superior graphics, performance, and speed, PC gamers are a unique lot who generally pride themselves on strength in their sport, along with a heavy dose of individualism. Often drawn to other technologies as well, most PC gamers are well familiarized with 3D printing and may have a few figurines sitting on the desktop as mementoes–if not a full-fledged design workshop and 3D printing technogeek factory whirring away in the back.

AMD knows VR and gaming are serious business in the PC world. But sometimes a breather is good, and what better way to spend it than adorning the tools of your favorite craft. Now, not only is AMD pushing the boundaries for allowing you to have a superior experience with virtual reality, they are also offering the chance for you to customize your AMD Radeon R9 Fury X graphics card however you’d like with 3D printing, a technology that often seems to travel along the virtual reality route as well.

custom2 (1)While 3D printing and the virtual reality realm are fast friends due to the ease digital design and 3D printed prototyping offer during the creation process of many products before they hit the marketplace, AMD is now just simply offering the chance to add to the fun with some added style, at your convenience–and whim.

PC gamers know it’s all about the graphics, and this is a small extension of that visual theme as you jazz up the front of your Fury X graphics card. If you are a PC gamer, you probably take great pride in your computer system as well as its setup and organization. AMD encourages you not only to be involved in revolutionizing and redefining your gaming experience, but also to dress the part by glamming up the hardware a little.

custom1The AMD Radeon R9 Fury X graphics card offers exponential high-bandwidth memory and powerful performance for futuristic, high energy gaming, and it also offers sleek industrial styling which you now have the ability to accentuate. Aware that their design isn’t the always the best one out there, they’ve designed the front plate for easy removal–to be replaced with your 3D printed version after downloading the file.

For installing your 3D printed plate you will want to make sure that you removed the front plate safely, and while it is powered off. Remove the four front hex screws with a hex key or screwdriver and be sure not to overtighten when putting them back.

Take some time away from the PC and fire up the 3D printer. You may be the envy of all your other PC gaming friends who will either want to come up with their own designs–or beg to borrow yours.

Will you be 3D printing this design for your graphics card? Have you 3D printed any other accents for your system? Share your style ideas with us in the Fury X Graphics Card forum thread over at 3DPB.com.
