3d systemsMe! Me! 3D Me! You might hear some of that at Euromold 2014 next week, as 3D Systems unveils the 3DMe Photobooth from November 25-28, 2014 in Frankfurt, Germany. Recommending 3DMe as a crowd-pleaser for events and retail venues, 3DS announced that the photobooth will be available for shipping to retailers in the U.S. and Europe on December 1, 2014.

The photo selfie is now just so 2013, people. And the photobooth has had an upgrade from what we knew as kids, for sure. With a 3D printed figurine, your friends and loved ones will have a tangible copy of you to display on their desks, fireplace mantles, nightstands, or wherever they wish to see you. It truly is as easy as one, two, three—If you are ready to smile, say “3D print me please,” and press a button. The machine is easy and inviting to use, offering a choice of 200 amusing 3D printable figurine choices.

As an income generating avenue for retailers and resellers, the 3DMe Photobooth should be a wonderful novelty and gift attraction for many people who have never been introduced to 3D scanning or 3D printing at all. With the photobooth, there should be a lot of fun for everybody in experiencing the instant 3D scanning technology, which leads the user through a completely streamlined process, resulting in a capture of the face, in full color.

downloadThe model only takes a matter of seconds to be completed and then a fully 3D printed figurine from Cubify can be ordered right on the spot, to be shipped to you. 3DS offers figurine options for both kids and adults, and I’m sure this is going to be a big hit with the younger crowd, since it’s a lot like playing 3D dress up.

“The 3DMe Photobooth will mainstream the 3D scanning and cloud printing experience, creating buzz and attracting crowds by bringing it right to the retail floor or event venue,” said Peter Theran, Vice President of Consumer Retail, 3DS. “Retailers can deliver 3D innovation to their customers in a fun, interactive environment with a very small footprint, and its ease-of-use and cloud-based order and fulfillment makes it simple to install and monetize the investment.”

For the individual user, this photobooth features a big wow factor , being able to quickly get scanned and then see themselves on the screen as various characters. For retailers, the machine is a piece of cake as it comes ready to plug in and go. It’s connected to Cubify and the ‘cloud printing fulfillment service’ with no complicated POS integration. Users can operate it themselves fully, so no employee resources need to be dedicated to the machine. The machine is 24×24 inches, with a height of about 70 inches.
