boxMatterHackers has officially announced the release of their latest version of their 3D printer controller, MatterControl T10, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV. MatterControl T10 is an Android-powered touchscreen controller, like the original MatterControl Touch (T7), that gives users the ability to create, edit, and prepare models directly from their printer. However, instead of a 7” screen, the T10 boasts a 10.6” inch screen with 1366 x 720 resolution. It also comes with a more powerful processor for faster slicing. The WiFi-enabled MatterControl T10 also provides access to designs via cloud-based library, and features an onboard camera for remotely monitoring progress of your print via mobile device.MC_3

“When we launched the original MatterControl Touch just under a year ago, the reception we received from customers was fantastic. The T10 is an exciting addition to that family of products which we hope will continue to delight 3D printer users,” said CEO of MatterHackers Lars Brubaker. “It’s physically bigger and computationally more powerful than the original T7 but with the same easy interface and great features.”

MatterHackers also announced that they are carrying two new filaments and a 3D printer. Pro Series PETG is a high-strength filament and is easily printable. Parts printed with PETG are stronger than parts printed with PLA or ABS. PETG can be used by any 3D printer as long as you can print around 240°C. There is no heated bed necessary when printing with PETG filament. PETG is hydrophobic meaning you never have to worry about moisture absorption with this filament. PETG is what MadeSolid PET+ is composed of as well as taulman t-glase. Pro Series PETG comes in 1.7mm and 3mm 1kg spools and is available in Royal Blue, Translucent Red and Translucent Blue colors.

MatterHackers other filament offering is ColorFabb corkFill. CorkFill was released by colorFabb at the end of September, as previously reported. CorkFill is an exciting filament which looks, feels, and behaves just like cork material. You can use this filament to make lightweight wood objects or traditional cork items such as dart boards and custom wine corks. Corkfill is a combination of PLA and Cork wood fibers. Because it’s PLA -based, you can print this filament on any printer than can handle PLA filament. CorkFill comes in 1.75mm and 3mm 0.65kg spools. Recommended printing temperature is 210°-230°C.

The M3D Micro is a mighty little printer made famous by its record breaking Kickstarter campaign and had over 12,000 backers. Matterhackers is now selling the “Retail Edition” version of the M3D Micro in black. The “Retail Edition” comes complete with retail box and packaging, a 1-year warranty and a spool of PLA filament. The M3D is a portable printer and uses 1.75mm PLA. At CES, M3D introduced two new easy-to-print filaments, expanding the utility of this little machine.

MatterHackers will be demonstrating MatterControl T10 in booth 73127 at the Sands Expo 3D Printing Marketplace, January 6th – 8th. Attendees will not only get to see the new controller, but they will have the opportunity to interact with the device as well. Retail release for MatterControl T10 is scheduled for mid-February 2016 via www.matterhackers.com, MatterHackers’ Southern California showroom, and other online retail partners. Pricing for the new T10 has not yet been announced. Manufacturers interested in bypassing LCD screens and embedding T7 or T10 into their next-generation, standalone 3D printers can contact MatterHackers directly for details.screen
