3D printing has its share of headaches. It doesn’t help that many 3D printers feature small screens, tiny buttons and janky jog wheels. Fortunately, you don’t have to be limited to your 3D printer’s built-in screen. MatterHackers, one of the world’s largest 3D printing retailers, makes a line of highly intuitive 3D printer controllers. Today, they announced their newest model, the MatterControl T7X.

The MatterControl T7X is a 7″ Android-powered touchscreen with features like Print Recovery, software bed-leveling, and multiple printer profiles. The device takes the features that make MatterControl so popular and incorporates them into a handheld device, replacing the need for a computer, SD cards, or USB connectivity and allowing a completely standalone 3D printing experience.

“The most important thing about T7X is that it makes the fully-featured, standalone 3D printing experience affordable,” MatterHackers COO Kevin Pope told 3DPrint.com. “Users get the full package including remote print monitoring, print recovery, direct printer control, cloud library access, and more built-in with no compromises. It’s as good or better than having a dedicated computer resource for every printer in your fleet at a fraction of the cost.”

MatterControl T7X features a sleek injection molded frame, and multiple standing angles and ergonomic handles make it easy to hold. You can download designs directly onto your T7X from your MatterControl Cloud Library for fast, efficient slicing. The MatterControl T7X also allows you to monitor your print’s progress remotely using its powerful built-in camera, and it will even alert you when your part is complete.

“We are incredibly excited to be launching MatterControl T7X,” said Lars Brubaker, CEO of MatterHackers. “At MatterHackers, continuously developing and improving MatterControl is a priority for us and something that we take tremendous pride in. T7X sets a new high bar for MatterControl, and for stand alone 3D printing. It is a fantastic controller and even more importantly a fantastic starting point for the next revolution in desktop 3D printing.”

Nothing is going to remove all the headaches of 3D printing, but the MatterControl T7X can make things significantly easier for you. To promote the launch of the MatterControl T7X, it will be on sale at MatterHackers from September 27 – October 4, 2017 for $179.00 USD (regular price will be $199.00 USD). It’s in stock and ready to ship today.

“MatterControl T7X is a tool specifically dedicated to your 3D printer. T7X’s design increases the capabilities and ease at which 3D printing can be successful,” said Dave Gaylord, MatterHackers’ Director of Marketing. ”The streamlined 3D printing experience provided by MatterControl T7X allows users to print comfortably and confidently.”
