The millions of unique design combinations can be customized using the Sandboxr functionality that can be created with the personalization tools, and they include 30,000 ways to create customized Smite characters, more than 12,500 customized poses and character options for Primal Carnage figures and a whopping 12 million combinations to personalize Infinity Blade characters.

“There is a lot of passion and excitement in the culture of gaming, as well as 3D printing, and by combining these two worlds and allowing customers to design and personalize their favorite video game characters we can bring enthusiasts even closer to the games they love,” says Steve Johnson, the Director of the Amazon Marketplace. “3D Printed Products on Amazon is still in its early days, and we are eager to offer customers the freedom to be designers and create one-of-a-kind items.”

To build your own characters, a user selects the game character and then launches the “personalization widget.” After reviewing any of a huge number of possible poses, animation designs and accessories, users check out their work with the 3D product preview function. This function allows a customer to rotate a virtual model of their character 360 degrees to view it from all angles.

Overall, the 3D Printed products include a range of unique items, many of which can be customized according to material, style and color variations. As part of the recent developments in the Amazon Marketplace, Sandboxr and 3D Systems have launched what they call Digital to Doorstep.

Sandboxr and 3D Systems print the products in photorealistic color via ColorJet 3D printing technology on the ProJet x60 series.

Cathy Lewis, the EVP and Chief Marketing Officer for 3D Systems, says the partnership with Sandboxr and Amazon is the ideal way to offer gamers fully-customizable 3D prints.

“Sandboxr’s digital customization and fulfillment model is a perfect example of how our technology integrates into and enhances existing products and experiences, and we believe that their innovative and scalable video game platform will drive further awareness and adoption of 3D printing,” says Lewis.
