You have probably already received so many invitations to ugly sweater parties that you are absolutely out of sufficient ways to impress your friends and family. Well, never fear, you can now take ugly to a whole new level with Ugly Add Ons, the 3D printed sweater ornament!

Whether you are going for gauche, tacky, or just plain unpleasant, the variety of prints available through Ugly Add Ons means that at least you won’t have the embarrassing moment when you realize you’ve worn the same thing as someone else at a party. They are offering ornaments, sew ons, and snowflakes to help you complete and compete. Send them your ideas and they promise to “hop on it like a bunny in heat.”

The unattractive accouterment of your choice is printed through Sculpteo and so is available in all of the materials normally offered through this service. This means that you can print in brass if xmas3you really want to sparkle. They have two stock models of sweater sew ons, a lacy stag’s head and what appears to be a shoulder penguin. They note that ugly is in the eye of the beholder… but it can also be on your knitwear!

The key to success with an ugly add on, though, seems to be in its application to a solid base. Not just any sweater will do, even if you are a hipster. If you don’t already have a sufficiently extensive collection of unattractive outwear, hop on over to The Sweater Store where the ugly is celebrated and even, sometimes, on sale for less than $25!

What’s that you’re asking? What about if you are dressing as a couple or, heaven forbid, as a family?

No worries!

The Sweater Store can offer you matching ugly and the wonder of 3D printing means that the printed additions to your tailored jumpers will be exactly the same. Unless you want them to be different! Then there’s that…

If you’re anything like I think you might be, just don’t get distracted by the availability of a stunning variety of cat sweaters that are non-Christmas themed. It’s hard to turn away from them, I know, but remember, just because you want to hug every cat, doesn’t mean that cats are acceptable substitutes for wintery motifs at a holiday season themed ugly sweater fiesta!

In fact, I think I have to start ordering right away. I have a couple of small children upon whom I wish to have my revenge… I mean, upon whom I wish to shower the bounty that is unattractive sweater ownership combined with the awesome power of 3D printed ugliness.

Let us know what you think about the new ability to make your ugly sweater even uglier over at the 3D Printed Ugly Add Ons forum thread at 3DPB.com.
