w1Some people refer to MakerBot as the Apple of 3D Printers. While they are generally priced higher than most machines on the market, they also come with lots of features and are part of an entire ecosystem that is impossible for other manufacturers to match. Additionally, the machines just look cool, like something you’d find in a future alien world.

While there has been mixed reviews about their machines themselves, typically if you are looking for a feature packed 3D printer, a MakerBot machine is the way to go.  That’s if you can afford it.

Today we got some awesome news, if you are in the market for a factory reconditioned MakerBot Replicator 5th Generation Desktop 3D Printer, their high quality PLA filament, or a Matter & Form Desktop 3D Scanner. The Amazon owned online deal site, Woot.com, has just launched a sale for all three of these products. Below are the details of these limited time offers:

Matter & Form Desktop 3D Laser Scanner

  • Price: $499.99 (Normally $699.99)
  • Deal Available until Friday, Sept 4 or supplies last
  • Limit of two per customer

MakerBot PLA Filament Large Spool, 2lb

  • Price $39.99 (Normally $49.99)
  • Deal Available until Friday, Sept 4 or while supplies last
  • Limit of three per customer

It appears as if Wooters are taking advantage of these offers already, as there has been a total of 16 MakerBot Replicator 3D printers and 5 Matter & Form scanners sold thus far. While all three deals are quite amazing, the MakerBot Replicator offer stands out to us as it’s nearly 50% off the retail price of the machine when new. If you w3don’t mind owning a refurbished device, which studies have shown hold up just as well as their newer counterparts, you will not be able to beat this deal anywhere.

I remember when Woot first launched several years back.  Their deals always seemed better back then, and when Amazon purchased the company in 2010, it seemed as if the discounts faded a bit.  With that said, this is the kind of deal that I remember from the Woot.com of old, one which is perfect if you have been considering a 3D printer or scanner purchase recently.   According to Woot, all three products will ship within 3-5 business days and the scanner and printer each have optional protection plans available thanks to Square Trade.

Let us know if you have decided to take advantage of any of these deals, as well as your thoughts on these offers in the Woot 3D printer/Scanner forum thread on 3DPB.com.
