Barcelona’s BCN3D Technologies Unveils New Lineup of 3D Printers

BCN3D-BadgeBCN3D Technologies is bringing new energy to the 3D printing playing field. They demonstrated this at their recent product launch, which included the exciting and substantial new release of three machines at Barcelona’s DHUB, showing that they are covering all the bases for their users with innovative features and comprehensive solutions for 3D printing operators on all levels.

Formerly known as RepRapBCN, the dynamic company from Barcelona just unveiled the following new machines, as they cover both desktop and professional markets with the:

  • Sigma
  • Lux
  • Ignis

Bringing their new products to market was the reward of ten months of development by the BCN3D team, determined to keep flinging open those doors to creativity for their users, who now can look forward to new features with high-quality, high-speed 3D printers offering the open source platform that allows users the ultimate control for their 3D printing needs.

The Sigma, first announced in the new line-up from BCN3D, was rolled out with priority on affordability, superior quality, and user friendliness. The Sigma is a fully assembled, FFF-based desktop 3D printer with a dual independent carriage extruder system allowing for precision and quality resolution with dual color 3D printing, as well as offering the ability to print with multiple materials while avoiding issues like oozing materials. Their new extruding system, the Bowden Quick Release, offers better design patterns with the opportunity to get a more accurate topcoat.

Users receive the benefit of:

  • Full color touch screen display with an intuitive user interface
  • Automatic leveling of the build platform
  • Dedicated dual extrusion system for printing large models with supports and/or multiple materials
  • Endurance of high temperatures up to 280 ºC
  • 210 x 297 x 210 mm build area
lux

BCN3D Lux

The Lux is a DLP projector-based resin 3D printer offering users even more comprehensive options with a print area of 250 x 140 x 300 mm, meant for detailed, larger prints with high resolution. Creating images layer after layer through a projector, the photosensitive resin used in the Lux interacts with the projected light and generates the desired 3D model.

It arrives fully assembled, ready to cater to its intended industries of makerspace communities and professionals.

And with no maker left behind in terms of need, BCN3D also offers the Ignis as a professional laser cutter and engraver system, featuring a high precision optical laser. Meant also to enhance the day-to-day needs of makers’ labs and those with more of a business angle, Ignus is a versatile machine that again allows for work on the larger scale.

The professional user has the option of using the Ignus to work with multiple materials such as plastics, composites, and wood and textiles with a surface size of 900 x 600 x 300 mm.

BCN3D expects these open source machines to have a strong and lasting impact on the maker community on all levels. In line with that thinking, they’ve expanded to a much larger office, warehouse, and manufacturing space in their home city of Barcelona.
