logoLast we reported, the Kwambio marketplace was in development, preparing to take 3D printing and networking by storm with a comprehensive service platform that’s unique in quality and security for both designers and consumers. It also promised to allow for user-friendly software for those purchasing designs to make changes to them and then fabricate them on any 3D printer.

Not content to stop just there, rolling with the infinitely strong momentum and magic of the 3D printing industry, Kwambio will now be releasing their own 3D printer in tandem as well, quite interesting in concept—making the entire Kwambio picture worth taking a look at, again.

k2As 3D printers and different equipment begin to offer touchscreens and a bevy of integrated services and software, it only makes sense that a 3D printer is going to come along that’s a standalone platform all on its own, offering not only a custom-designed 3D printer, but also a 3D interface that gives the obvious inspiration for its name: Unique One.

And while the Unique One offers an all-in-one approach that indeed makes it different and much more attractive than many other 3D printers for many hobbyists and designers, it also offers something everyone is looking for in 3D printing, and that’s speed.

“It’s five times faster than competitors, it’s stylish and innovative, and we are ready to present the working prototype at the 3D PrintShow in New York tomorrow,” stated the company.

The Unique One prints at 300 mm per second, giving users what they both need and want for pumping out quality 3D prints. Creating further ease for 3D printing enthusiasts who are concerned with making, but not so thrilled about dealing with complications that can occur in the melding together of all the different processes between software and hardware integration, Kwambio allows for:

  • Wireless operation
  • Self-calibration
  • Use of smart cartridges with RFID chips to examine and report filament levels.

Further specifications of the Unique One are:

  • Height of 720mm
  • Diameter of 420mm
  • Build volume of 300mm x 300mm x 250mm

k1While it’s certainly attractive from the utilitarian angle, the Unique One boasts aesthetics like you’ve never seen before. Even if you never manage to get to the 3D printing part of things, this machine will look mighty nice in your home or office, bearing a sleek, cylindrical design in classic black. It’s an elegant piece of equipment that allows you to say goodbye to files altogether as you can control everything in one step, even going straight from scanning a physical item from your smartphone in your living room and then sending it directly for 3D printing at the Unique One.

The Unique One takes their original platform one step further. Where they were offering users the ability to change purchased designs easily from their 3D printing service, now they are allowing for you to basically get the design you want, change it to your specs, and 3D print it from the desktop. Users often want to go from A-Z without having to k3worry about all the details in between, piecing technology together just to make a simple or even more complex 3D model.

“We don’t see 3D printing as a hardware, software or content business. It doesn’t work that way. We see 3D printing as a simple service for creating unique personalized products,” says Vlad Usov, cofounder and CEO at Kwambio Inc.

“You still need a great 3D printer, intuitive software and high quality content, but it should be bundled into one simple solution that everyone can use to create unique stuff. A 3D Printer as a service–that’s what Kwambio is all about. We created Unique One as a completely singular product. You can’t determine a boundary between hardware, software and content.”

Headquartered in New York, Kwambio’s private beta testing platform was launched last fall, empowering users with the slogan, “Unique Products Created by You.” With the idea that users can become inspired and create their own brands, they are encouraged to use their passion for 3D printing to make additional income in the marketplace without worrying about piracy, due to Kwambio’s unique and strong safeguarding.

Adding a 3D printer with so many features into the mix certainly helps cover users’ needs comprehensively, giving Kwambio added marketshare and a greater competitive edge right out of the gate. In a perfectly synchronized marketing strategy, both the Unique One 3D printer and the Kwambio platform will be rolled out for consumers this summer.
