This is a part of a series where 3D printing pioneer Janne Kyttanen explores value networks and 3D printing. He explains what this is here. Janne is trying to explore creating a value network around the 3D printing of concrete in order to with an alliance of companies disrupt the market. He interviewed Stephan Mansour on change management in 3D printing concrete here, he talks to BAM’s Jeroen Nuijten on the construction company’s take here and spoke to Robert Niven of Carboncure.

Now Janne is interviewing Edouard Baaklini of 3Dvinci Creations. 3Dvinci Creations is a Dubai based 3D printing service bureau working on 3D printing concrete for five years. They’ve been making offices and working with the water authority and other partners to print houses and buildings. Printing houses is one of the most hype friendly areas of 3D printing. Edouard has been working on trying to make this a reality for his company by printing commercial buildings. The pair talk about the business of 3D printing concrete and what the issues are in working together to make 3D printed concrete a reality.

Janne tells us,

“We see 3D printed homes popping up in the media all time. Most of them are renderings but some are also real. I am especially fascinated to find out what it really means when Dubai has made a bold statement of aiming to 3D print 25% of their buildings by 2030. In order to dig deeper to find out on what is real and what is not, check out the full interview with Edouard Baaklini from 3DVinci Creations.”
