Sketchy Puget Technologies’ IdeaWerk 3D Printers Supposedly Available for Pre-order Tomorrow
Puget Technologies, a company which is sort of an unknown within the 3D printing space, has announced that they will be opening up pre-orders for their new IdeaWerk 3D printer starting tomorrow, April 16th. The cost 
of the printer will be $999, and according to the company, it will be coupled with premium tech support and a warranty option. They claim that the first printers will begin shipping in approximately 5 weeks.
“With this attractive price point, great features and innovative design, the IdeaWerk high performance 3D printer is expected to revolutionize the consumer market,” said Gary Valentine, President and CEO of Puget. He added, “Consumers can now pre-order their 3D printers and be among the first to receive a product that will raise the bar in home 3D printing.”
The exact specifications of the IdeaWerk 3D printer have not yet been made available, and the company has only given the following details about the device:
- User-friendly
- Compact and portable hardware,
- Solid metal body
- Up to 120 hours of continuous printing
Clearly this doesn’t say much. The only pictures that they have made available of the IdeaWerks printer is one that looks suspiciously similar to the Afinia H480 3D printer, which leads many within the industry to 
question the legitimacy of Puget Technologies as a company.
As we have detailed before in an article, Puget is a newcomer to the industry, and has been touting their publicly traded stock almost obsessively. What is even more suspicious is that the company, which up until the end of last year was allegedly selling medical cannabis, as their main form of business, only has approximately $8000 on their balance sheet, after spending over $30,000 on a paid stock promotion.
It will certainly be interesting to see if they actually come out with a respectable product. We urge potential customers to research the company, just like they should any other, before putting any money down on their printers.
