shapeways-logo-rgb-20141008While the weather has been unseasonably warm this fall in the Northeast, things are heating up at Shapeways. In preparation for the upcoming holidays, the hard working team at Shapeways has been cataloging the shops of independent designers on the site in order to compile the best selection of customizable finds. The 2016 Holiday Gift Guide, released yesterday, will help shoppers find unique gifts for everyone on their list.

The Holiday Gift Guide features amazing designs from creators around the globe. One feature that makes Shapeways gifts so special is that you can say that it was made by you, since nothing in their marketplace exists until you order it, and you get to customize your gifts every time.

gift-guide1According to the Shapeways blog:

“Whether it’s the perfect ring, custom-made in your best friend’s metal of choice, rose gold. Or a keychain you design, inspired by your aunt’s favorite cat. You can even put their name on one of the newest iPhone case designs. The best part? All of these products were created by independent designers — meaning you’re supporting a local maker, somewhere in the world.”

gift-guide2The designs in the guide are cataloged in quirky categories with names like Gamemaster, Hipster Life, and Talk Nerdy to Me. As to be expected, Gamemaster features a lot of multi-sided dice, while Hipster Life has a number of bicycle-related gifts, some of which also appear in the For the Love of Bikes section. Some of the designs are so downright strange that you’re not going to find anywhere else. Bacon Mobius Strip, which we previously featured, is one of the peculiar finds in Hipster Life. Mobius Earings, by contrast, offer a more elegant twist on the same idea.

Caffeine Molecule Espresso Cup, in the House Warming section of the Holiday Gift Guide, comes in various finishes and sizes.

There are also more traditional sounding categories such as House Warming Decor and Animal Lovers. There are a number of earnings and pendants in Animal Lovers that are, you guessed it, animal themed. The designs in House Warming Decor are by large part porcelain items like cups and vases, and tea light and candle stick holders.

If you’re shopping for someone that deserves (or demands) only the very best presents, Shapeways has got you covered. As a bonus, they’ll ship anything in featured in the gift guide for free until November 20. Just use code SHIP4FREE at checkout to get free shipping. Even Scrooge would be impressed with that.
