3YOURMIND Completes 2nd Round of Funding with Seven-Digit Sum, EOS’ Dr. Hans Langer as Main Investor
An international portal for 3D solutions, 3YOURMIND is experiencing success upon success. Already performing at the top of their game as the world’s leading one-stop venue for 3D printing services, the Berlin-based company has now also just completed its second round of financing. A spin-off of the Technical University of Berlin and founded in 2014, 3YOURMIND operates headquarters in both Berlin and Breslau, Poland with a total of 25 employees handling all of their operations.
During this round of financing, they caught the attention of Dr. Hans J. Langer, who has just become their lead investor, as they receive what is said to be a seven-digit sum for business expansion and rapid internationalization. Langer, founder of EOS GmbH Electro-Optical Systems located in Krailing near Munich, is a true pioneer in 3D printing. He founded EOS in 1989 and serves as CEO for the company, which currently functions as the worldwide leading provider of industrial 3D printers in laser sintering. Aside from EOS, Dr. Langer’s portfolio also includes other major 3D printing and laser technology companies. As a Business Angel, he supports the growth of start-up companies in this sector.
“We are pleased to have Dr Hans J. Langer, one of the world’s leading experts in the field of industrial 3D printing, on board with us as an investor,” says Stephan Kühr, founder and CEO of 3YOURMIND. “This financing round is a great milestone on our way to realizing our vision–with our online-platform we will make it easy for anybody to create and receive perfect 3D prints from only the best 3D printing services.”
Earlier in the year, 3YOURMIND launched their online 3D-button platform, which offers 3D printing directly from CAD-based programs, with data easily adjusted and edited. Plug-ins for all of the CAD programs are also offered free from their newest platform, which allows their user population of engineers and architects to add automatic data correction and print preparation to their software capability.
Users at 3YOURMIND are able not only to compare providers, but can compare prices and delivery times, as well as location and quality. Along with that, customers are able to choose from over 150 different materials and finishes, and 3D models can be ordered in just a few quick, easy steps. Automatic file repair is also offered.
“3YOURMIND solves a huge problem to bring additive manufacturing to the broad masses: with the software of 3YOURMIND, 3D data are analyzed and optimized for printing in a matter of seconds,” says Dr. Langer. “This saves a lot of time and money. A tremendous additional benefit for the customers is the direct integration into the CAD programs.”
And apparently, many others agree with Langer’s thoughts, as 3YOURMIND already has a wide range of users from all over the world, to include the US, Germany, Poland, Russia, and Great Britain–and they are logging over 60,000 inquiries regarding 3D printing and pricing each month. These users are entrepreneurs, researchers, architects, and far more. The company has partnerships with numerous 3D printing and CAD program operators as well, as they offer comprehensive services for quality 3D prints that are often highly complex.
