Session 1—Filaments and Other Materials Considerations

In this session, we’ll take a comprehensive look at the materials options for your design goals, including filaments, metals and plastics. We’ll also cover what design considerations need to be made when deciding on what materials are right for your project.

Session 2 — Design for Additive Manufacture

This short presentation will use 3 case studies to look at design methodologies to optimize material characteristics, geometric performance and build times across;

  • A tilting camera mount
  • Automotive suspension parts
  • Tooling and machine fixturing

The presentation will consider multiple popular additive methods, but will consider worked examples primarily using the FDM process.
