Anyone who has ever worked for tips will tell you that financial recognition of their above-and-beyond talent, service, or other professional work is one of the best ways to make them feel appreciated. Among those who thrive on hopefully good tips are waitstaff, bartenders, baristas, and others in the restaurant business; aestheticians and other stylists; performers; and artists. Adding now to that last category are those who create some of the amazing models available for free download from MyMiniFactory.MMF Tips

As of today, MyMiniFactory has enabled a new feature in order to recognize especially impressive models that some truly talented digital designers have made available.

“Tipping is a great way for you to show your appreciation for your favourite designers on MyMiniFactory,” the company noted on their blog. “As you know, all content on MyMiniFactory is available to download for free. We’ve introduced tipping as a way for you to give back to the designers who provide such great content to the platform!”

myminifactory-3d-print-filesWe’ve covered dozens of great objects found over at MyMiniFactory. It seems like new designs are catching our eye here at 3DPrint.com every day, from BattleMops to caricatures of the British Royals to eyewear, and until now there hasn’t been a way to (financially) thank the dedicated designers behind these clever models as you click to download their free STL files.

For both designers and admirers, the new tipping system looks to be incredibly easy; the MyMiniFactory team even included a Vine video (below) to illustrate just how easy it is.

PayPal LogoIn order to tip a designer, simply make sure that you have a PayPal account set up ahead of time. Then, at either the page for the design you like or just in the designer’s profile for an overall “good job,” click on the new “TIP” button. Starting at $2 and going on up to $100, you can then express your appreciation in a way the designer will certainly understand.

Are you a designer? To receive tips, all you have to do is add your PayPal account information to your designer profile at MyMiniFactory. Anyone who has submitted a design to the site is eligible to receive tips, and a simple click over to “edit profile” will link your PayPal ID up, all ready to accept tips.

PayPal has its own fees that are involved, so a small portion from each tip will go to them; the vast majority goes directly to your favored designer. MyMiniFactory doesn’t get a cut, as these tips are all for the hard-working designers.

From A to V — accessories to video game-based designs, that is — the downloadable designs at MyMiniFactory certainly have the bases covered. Whose designs are your favorite? Let us know if you’ll be looking forward to tipping them, and if the system is as easy as it sounds, over in the Tips for MyMiniFactory Designers forum thread at 3DPB.com.
