Hamilton, formerly of 3M, also served since 2012 as Vice President of Lean Six Sigma Operations, Corporate Quality and Acquisition Integration there. It was his role to devise strategic and operational plans for 3M’s Industrial Business Group. Hamilton was also the leader of the company’s Masking and Surface Protection Business, and as part of his duties, had full P&L responsibilities for those operations.

Before his stint with 3M, Hamilton was a plant manager at Ford Motor Co., including Plant Manager, where he reversed declining productivity at one facility, making it the top-ranked plant among 20 Ford plants.

Stratasys is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Rehovot, Israel, and the company provides 3D printing and additive manufacturing solutions like the company’s patented FDM, PolyJet, and WDM 3D printing technologies. Stratasys subsidiaries include MakerBot and Solidscape, and the company operates a digital parts manufacturing service, Stratasys Direct Manufacturing.

Stratasys employs more than 2,800 workers and holds over 600 granted — or pending — additive manufacturing patents around the globe. Hamilton will be based in Minneapolis and report to Stratasys’ COO and CFO, Erez Simha.

“We look forward to Jerome joining the Stratasys team. We look to him to support goals to improve manufacturing efficiency, optimize capacity and reduce cost of operations, all areas in which he has a proven track record,” Simha said.

Hamilton will be tasked with leading global manufacturing, strategic sourcing, supply chain, and worldwide distribution teams supporting Stratasys products. He’ll also be asked to analyze, forecast, develop, and execute plans to meet corporate targets around World Class Customer Experience, Improved Productivity and Asset Management, and employee engagement programs for the company. Stratasys says Hamilton will also take part in evaluating and integrating merger and acquisition targets for the company.

With the 3D printing and additive manufacturing market becoming increasingly competitive around the globe, the choices companies make to fill their executive positions will be keys to success.
