The internet and memes go together like Santa Claus and Christmas, and 3D printing has created a way of fabricating our favorite memes in 3-dimensions. Without this technology, we would be limited to only viewing photographs and sketches of our favorite internet celebrities. In honor of Christmas, 3DPrint.com decided to share some of our favorite 3D printable Christmas memes, ones which we believe would certainly make Doge, Slender Man and Forever Alone quite happy. Here they are, in no particular order.
Grumpy Cat Christmas Edition
Grumpy Cat is my favorite meme of them all. There is something about his personality that makes me just wanna pet him and tell him to cheer up. Designer Manuel Poehlau, also seems to be a fan of this cute little critter, so much so that he designed this 3D printed Santa Claus version of Grumpy Cat. Only available for a limited time on Shapeways, this is a must have for anyone who can’t get enough of this famed character. 3D printed in full-color sandstone, this version of Grumpy Cat can be had for just $25.00.
President Obama Christmas Tree Ornament
OK, perhaps it not quite a meme, but maybe it will become one soon. This Christmas tree ornament features none other than President Barack Obama, dressed as Santa. Created for the White House 3D Printed Ornament Design Challenge, this is the perfect ornament for all the democrats out there. “I started out sculpting him with a dark suit and a red tie like we see him in the various Christmas related photos, yet it just didn’t look right so I sculpted him a Santa suit,” explains the designer.
Zoidberg Christmas
Everyone loves Zoidberg, right? As the staff doctor for Planet Express, his Yiddish acccent makes many believe that he is Jewish, although it has never quite been confirmed. This is what makes 3D printing so wonderful. Even a non-kosher Jewish lobster can celebrate Christmas this holiday season. Affordably priced, starting at $9.99 on Shapeways, he might just make for that perfect stocking-stuffer next Christmas, or maybe even Hannukah.
Ho Ho Hum Cat – Christmas Ornament
Definitely not of the prestige of say a Grumpy Cat, Ho Ho Hum Cat may be next to become an internet sensation, at least in the 3D printing world. This ornament/tree topper can be purchased for just $24.99 on Shapeways, and would, as its designer says, make a “purr-fect present for the Scrooge in your life.”
Snowflake Twerk Ornament
Nothing says Merry Christmas like an image in your head of Miley Cyrus twerking. Now, you can have the custom made Twerk Ornament, which has creatively been designed in the shape of a snowflake. “No two snowflakes are ever the same … and this one just happens to look like the Twerking dance,” says designer Kimotion Arts, who also offers a Baby Groot ornament and Ninja Turtle ornament on Shapeways. Priced at just $5.50, it would make for the perfect gag gift for that Miley Cyrus fan in your family.
