Founded in 2004, China’s Shining 3D offers 3D solutions to the world, to include equipment for 3D scanning, 3D printing, designing and manufacturing—even including a cloud platform with a completely established network. In the past couple of years they have submitted many applications for different patents for inventions, utility models, software copyrights, and more.

As Shining 3D products have become known around the globe, their 3D scanning and 3D printing products have become especially popular. Now, an update to their scanning software will offer users an even greater experience—improving both speed and quality as the download for EinScan Software V2.5 becomes available.

Users can look forward to the following new features, several in direct response to user feedback:

  • Help mode for beginning users
  • New file format, with 3MF now supported
  • Overall improved scanning quality
  • Live customer support
  • Multilingual versions of the software
  • Corrected order of meshing quality level
  • Decrease of memory consumed by the software
  • Added brightness level bar
  • Added alert sound during calibration
  • Optimized zoom scale tool

Future updates will include such additional features as providing the data list that allows users to edit and align individual scans, offline software use for post-processing, and the ability to switch easily between handheld scanning mode and fix mode in the same scan. With the handheld EinScan Pro and EinScan Pro+ — introduced early this year — along with desktop EinScan S 3D scanners, the innovative hardware is able to ‘fulfill numerous needs from all applications,’ according to Shining 3D.

The EinScan series of scanners offers substantial support for users, allowing for:

  • Digitized designs
  • Archiving
  • Personalized customization
  • Education

“Because of the low threshold and high scanning quality, EinScan series have allowed 3D technologies to enter more individuals and businesses,” states Shining 3D regarding the upgrades.

New upgrades for EinScan Pro and Pro+ include smoother scanning, as well as better quality.

“More details of scanning data can be captured under handheld rapid scan and handheld HD scan modes,” states Shining 3D.

All of their 3D scanners will benefit from a new built-in ‘quick guide,’ leading users with a question mark that can be clicked on to go to the next step. 3MF support is included, and customer support is now both ‘more responsive and convenient.’

Multi-lingual support is offered, and users can toggle between languages easily. The following are included in the upgrade:

  • English
  • Spanish
  • Turkish
  • German
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Russian
  • French
  • English
  • Simplified Chinese
  • Traditional Chinese

Beta testing programs were behind most of the changes and enhancements made in the new software upgrade. Those involved in the beta program received 3D printed gifts, and six users actually won major awards to include free upgrades and even a round-trip package to the 2017 Shining 3D global partner summit in Hangzhou, where the company is headquartered. According to Shining 3D, a Thai tester and French tester won the highest awards.
