A few years ago, Taiwanese optical component manufacturer Young Optics decided to get into 3D printing, and the result was a new spin-off company by the name of MiiCraft. The company would go on to create the world’s smallest DLP desktop printer in the tiny MiiCraft+, and now they’re introducing the next in their line of DLP 3D printers. Meet the MiiCraft 125, a big, versatile and precise machine that the company describes as ideal for the jewelry and dental industries.
The MiiCraft 125 is at the opposite end of the spectrum from the MiiCraft+, size-wise at least. Like many 3D printers, it takes its name from its build volume, which in this case is an impressive 125 x 70 x 120 mm. Translated into jewelry terms, it can accommodate more than 50 rings in one build, or, for the dentistry industry, seven dental arches. It doesn’t disappoint in terms of resolution, either, with a range from 30μm to 65μm.
It appears that the MiiCraft 125 employs the best of both worlds in terms of automation and control. The user has a lot of flexibility and control over parameter settings such as layer speed, printing time and peeling steps, thanks to an intuitive and easy-to-use interface, yet the printer also offers the convenience of automated features, e.g., auto calibration. The MiiCraft software allows for easy design modifications and fixes such as surface smoothing, edge enhancement and blurring. Real time print status monitoring is offered, as is a stop/check function.
In terms of materials, MiiCraft offers a good variety of resins, but the 125 is also compatible with third party resins. A few technical specifications include:

Jewelry casts produced on the MiiCraft 125 were recently showcased at the VICENZAORO International Jewelry Show, which took place from April 14-17 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The market for 3D jewelry printers is becoming a competitive one, with companies such as EnvisionTEC setting the standard with their numerous printers optimized for the jewelry industry. They unveiled their latest, the MicroPlus cDLM, only days ago. The MiiCraft 125, though, has definitely shown itself already to be capable of some impressively detailed resin casts, as seen at VICENZAORO. I suspect that MiiCraft as a company will gain some favorable reviews and likely become a bigger name in the jewelry printer industry with the 125’s release.
