ira3d logoLast year the industry saw 3D printer sales for home use start to soften slightly, while at the same time there were significant jumps in sales for small businesses, schools and universities. It seems that 3D printing has evolved beyond a hobby for makers into a valuable tool for education and business. Desktop 3D printers have proven themselves to be vital new additions to university makerspaces and tech labs, K to 12 classrooms and small businesses have found a remarkable amount of value in the ability to rapidly produce prototypes or mockups of products and parts. This shift in the market has led quite a few 3D printer manufacturers to reevaluate their priorities and begin looking at new ways to sell their products.

We’ve already seen plenty of companies looking to get their 3D printers into classrooms over the last few years, but 3D printer manufacturer Ira3D is looking to take that to a new level. This week the Italian company announced that they are set to begin offering an all-in-one 3D printing center optimized for research and development. The Poetry X Center is a package of hardware, software and printing materials that will allow organizations to purchase an entire out-of-the-box 3D printing station that would have all the supplies and equipment that they would need to get started. The goal of the package is to offer universities, schools and businesses an easy options to expanding or setting up new 3D printing facilities without the worry of compatibility issues.

The Center will also include several software packages include the Infinity Slicer software that includes preset Poetry Infinity printing parameters and Poetry Academy, a series of customized training courses that cover the skills and applications that the client needs emphasized. In addition to the Poetry Infinity 3D printer, the Center will also include a selection of desktop hardware to post process prints or to metal plate 3D printed objects. And of course it all will come with Poetry Care, the Ira3D tech support, which also includes on-site installation.

“We are extremely excited about this initiative. Ira3D shares with R&D centres the desire for innovation and propaedeutic transformation, in order to benefit research and offer added value to every venture. In all production sectors. We hope the Poetry X Center project can give its contribution in helping research, which is an essential instrument for global innovation; we are committed to offering better tools in order for this transformation to happen smoothly, quickly and in the best possible way. These projects go beyond the high technical qualities of Poetry Infinity 3D printers. They commit to providing a complete system thanks to which research, production and prototyping can benefit from the most advanced technology in a simple and effective way,” continues Padrin.

The Poetry X Center was developed specifically to ease companies into using 3D printing technology and remove many of the basic roadblocks that often make adoption difficult. All of the various components and software included in the turnkey 3D printing system will work together right out of the box. This will allow users to focus on experimentation, creativity, and research and development, not worrying about keeping the 3D printing lab operational. The Poetry X Center will work with Ira3D’s recently launched Infinity Ecosystem 3D printing process and job management software. Currently there is no pricing and no list of specific hardware that will be included in the package, however Ira3D is set to release new information soon.
