SpatialLogoAs progress, out-of-this-world innovation, and changing needs permeate the 3D printing industry at a speed many were not able to foresee or imagine–initially–those who work to make users’ lives easier are often finding themselves scrambling to come up with solutions to myriad issues makers, hobbyists, and professionals are pointing out–because after all, designers and engineers need to focus on getting the work done–and with smooth sailing unhindered by technical issues.

Spatial has been busy behind the scenes addressing needs that are extremely relevant to today, with the release of their 2016 1.0 release of CGM Core Modeler, 3D ACIS Modeler, and 3D InterOp. This package is meant to get ahead of challenges before they become dire needs, offering:

  • Cloud enablement
  • Multi-CAD mixed environment support, extended and enhanced–also allowing for better access overall
  • 3D printing support
  • 3DEXPERIENCE platform technology with 3D ACIS Modeler

UntitledAnd as a standout feature, this release also offers a first with a hybrid modeling solution integrating polygonal and precise data.

“There are many changes happening in the industry today; technology enablers like cloud, mobile and 3D printing, as well as new business models, forms of investment and growth, and company expansion into non-traditional markets. We recognize these shifts and continue to drive solutions to enable our customers to stay on top of these trends,“ stated Linda Lokay, Vice President Marketing & Alliances Spatial Corp.

“This latest release focuses on key technology challenges for additive and subtractive manufacturing, analysis, and cloud mobility. Our 2016 1.0 release delivers enhancements and unification of our existing portfolio. We are also expanding upon traditional 3D B-rep modeling by offering CGM Polyhedra, a fully integrated polyhedral extension of Dassault Systèmes technology.”

UntitledWith items like comprehensive feature recognition, users are able to improve and optimize projects, along with discovering increased performance. Matched with a user-friendly environment, features like the following can’t be beaten regarding the 3D ACIS modeler:

  • New failsafe operations
  • Enhanced Boolean capabilities
  • Improved checking
  • Healing functions
  • Stitching capabilities

Next generation CGM HLR is supported with both CGM Core Modeler and 3D ACIS Modeler, making it attractive for use in applications relevant to engineering, architecture, and manufacturing. With CGM Hidden Line Removal (HLR) users can make high quality hidden line views, engineering drawings, and technical illustrations quickly. CGM HLR also allows for speedy and reliable results no matter the complexity, providing the tools and configurability to adjust the result accuracy and behavior.

Headquartered in Broomfield, CO, Spatial Corp is a subsidiary of Dassault Systèmes. They function as a leader in 3D software development toolkits for technical applications across a broad range of industries. They also have offices in Germany, Japan, China, and the UK.
