m-j-mediaMakeX recently brought a digital light processing (DLP) based SLA 3D printer to market capable of delivering high precision, detailed 3D prints which was launched following a successful Kickstarter campaign last June, and now the company is at it again.

They’re currently wrapping up the details for another printer for launch via a Kickstarter campaign, this one specially designed for the jewelry industry and medical applications. It’s a second version of the company’s ‘M’ series and will be available through Kickstarter before July.three views-s

M-Jewelry is rather tiny at just 270x250x380 mm, and it’s light, has a rather small build volume, features high resolution and excellent layer thickness.

The company says the high resolution desktop printer is created for jewelry designers and makers in particular with it’s UV-LED light source which they say can provide up to 20,000+ working hours of life, wireless printing via Wifi and USB and a 3.5 inch touch screen.

The previous version of the M-One is compatible with all 3rd-party resins, and the company offers their own SubG+ resin from their dedicated supplier, MakerJuice, starting at $45 per liter.

The M-One retails for $2899 for a package which includes a printer, Makex XMaker software and a cleaning kit. Although the mmcompany is yet to reveal details for their upcoming Kickstarter campaign for the M-Jewelry, backers of the last campaign received MakeX’s exclusive software which boasted features like hollow printing and automatically created support structures for prints.

Makex XMaker software also features “Image Modifier & Printing Trace Log” which allows the printed images to be re-positioned and duplicated prior to fabrication. That means users can modify and fine-tune an object without re-processing each model separately. The M-Jewelry is capable of printing at a resolution down to 50 microns, and it includes a build volume of 64x40x140 mm.

Makex is located in Eastern China, and they say their focus is on exploring new materials, 3D printing, and innovative design.  Have you ever used the Makex M-One DLP printer?  What do you think about this new device? Let us know in the Makex M-Jewelry UV Printer forum thread on 3DPB.com.
