“Good night— Good luck.” Just the slogan is enough to give me goosebumps. It’s become more than a rat race, worse than a dog-eat-dog world in the city of Harran. A raging infection has broken out, releasing a legion of zombies on the healthy population.

It’s a terrible life indeed in the Dying Light video game, where characters in the city have limited hours to forage and find ways to survive before the sun goes down — and they become the hunted. If you are a gamer infected with a need to play survival games, save the date for January 30th. Dying Light, a game of terror and survival in a post-apocalypse world, is chock full of zombies who must be knocked out with gunpower, axed, or have their heads bludgeoned in with bats on a regular basis. Your character is in a race for his life, trying to get to the medical checkpoint to receive the Antizen vaccine.

Alone in Harran

All alone in the city of Harran.

To psyche everyone up pre-game and pre-launch, Dying Light is releasing a free download for all the 3D printing enthusiasts who would like a zombie figurine of their own. Obviously a comely lass in her first life, things went downhill for the zombie girl featured for 3D printing. Clad in a bikini top and blood spattered jeans, the figurine requires some accentuating once out of the printer.

Dying Light developer Techland provides tips on how to paint the figurine once you’ve 3D printed it, so that you can show off a replica that is a true collectible, as well as a personal piece of artwork.

They warn that you will need to focus with the paintbrush, but achieving your goal looks like it will be as much fun as playing the game. You’ll need a basic range of paints. Beginning with painting the figurine completely black, you will then need to paint in corpse-ish flesh tones and a plum color that represents areas where blood dried after she was gnawed on. Concept artist Krzysztof Baron leads you through the steps in the video below so that you can achieve the full zombie effect.

With another creative touch that draws you into game immediately, check out the Harran city page that gives a full picture of the devastation, fear, and horror going on with the information provided by a hacker. They have also released a short movie, filmed parkour-style to get you even more jazzed up for the game. Featuring one frantic character and quite the agile zombie, they run from the streets to the rooftops in a brief but terrifying example of what happens on a regular basis in Harran. Check it out below.
