Last year, Kudo3D had a tremendous Kickstarter success with the Bean, a fast, eco-friendly, high-resolution SLA 3D printer that uses the company’s patented Passive Self-Peeling (PSP) technology. Kudo3D also ran an Indiegogo campaign for the 3D printer, bringing the total funding for the machine to an astonishing $920,000. This came about three years after the introduction of the company’s first 3D printer, the Titan 1, which first introduced PSP technology and raised about $620,000 on Kickstarter. Both campaigns reached their goals in a matter of only a few minutes. Clearly this is a company that knows how to crowdfund, as well as how to make 3D printers. In fact, Kudo3D is the second most successful SLA 3D printer manufacturer in crowdfunding history.
The Bean is still available on Indiegogo. Although it’s been funded well past 1000% its fundraising goal, there are still plenty of discounts you can take advantage of for supporting the campaign. The Desktop Bean 3D printer is an LCD-based printer, which sets it apart from other SLA 3D printers that typically use DLP or lasers as a light source. The Bean uses a high resolution 2K LCD panel paired with a purple 405 nm LED lamp. The inexpensive Bean has a wide variety of 3DSR resins available for it, as do the Titan 1 and Titan 2.
Kudo3D is not a company to slow down and relax after a big success, so this week the company is attending RAPID + TCT with a brand new 3D printer. The FAB is a high end 4K LCD 3D printer based on the structure of the Bean but with better components, according to Kudo3D. The FAB is extremely fast, with a THK high performance linear guide and a 100W lamp to boost its speed. It also has very high resolution – 31.5μm to be exact, and is capable of a 10 micron layer thickness on the Z axis.
The FAB is a compact, robust 3D printer made mostly of metal and with a size of 20 x 20 x 40 cm. It only weighs 15 pounds and is suitable for a wide variety of environments including offices, workshops, studios and labs as well as factories. It offers a build volume of 68 x 120 x 155 mm and a spring-loaded, self-leveling build platform. The user-friendly FAB is pre-calibrated before being sent out to customers. It’s designed for professional applications, yet is easy enough to use that customers without a lot of experience can still use it easily.
Like the Bean, the FAB is eco-friendly and both CE and FCC certified. It’s designed to last a long time even with a lot of use, and like Kudo 3D’s other 3D printers uses PSP technology, which results in high resolution and impressive quality.
Kudo3D was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Dublin, California. The company is attending RAPID + TCT this week, and will be showcasing the FAB as well as its other LCD based 3D printers. Visit Kudo3D at Booth #2425 and learn more about these 3D printers and their many advantages and applications, as well as pricing and availability information.
