3D printer manufacturer Raise3D has become known for its N series of 3D printers, introduced in 2015. The series became incredibly popular and well reviewed, and the N2 3D printer was recently named one of the top Prosumer 3D printers by 3D Hubs. Now the company is introducing a new series of 3D printers – the Pro2 series, a line of 3D printers with industrial-grade components designed to be used in flexible manufacturing systems.

Raise3D describes desktop 3D printer factories as “flexible manufacturing,” and points out that these systems are capable of producing batch sizes from one to a few thousand. The flexibility in flexible manufacturing also extends to the use of different materials and colors, the parallel production of parts of different materials, and the parallel production of different batch sizes.

The Pro2 series is designed to be used in flexible manufacturing systems. While the Pro2 looks very similar to the N2, it’s more advanced, and was designed to be accurate, reliable, fast and easy to use.

“Even if our N2 printers have been considered among the best for desktop fabrication by Make Magazine and 3D Hubs Community, there was still room for improvement in some features,” said Raise3D CEO Diogo Quental. “We carried out a full revision of our N2 series and designed a new printer with the best performance and quality components we could develop or find in the market. Our determination is to have the best possible FFF 3D printer to achieve our vision of Pathfinding for Flexible Manufacturing.”

According to Raise3D, the dual extrusion Pro2 is one of the fastest in its category and is 16 times more accurate than the market standard. The company had small batch manufacturing in mind when it designed the Pro2 series, and envisions the 3D printer becoming a central part of the flexible manufacturing concept. With a flexible manufacturing system based on the Pro2, the company states, short runs can be easy to manage and have a stable and low cost. Significant savings can be achieved thanks to the following:

  • Batch size
  • Materials used
  • Location of production
  • Integration with other systems

By the end of the year, Raise3D also plans to offer a Service Package, Print Management software, customized solutions for Vertical Markets and consulting services for corporate partners. Pre-sales of the Pro2 begin today, with the Pro2 starting at $3,999 and the Pro2 Plus starting at $5,999.

The official launch of the series will take place on April 25th at RAPID + TCT, which is being held in Fort Worth, Texas. 3DPrint.com will be at RAPID + TCT, and will be bringing you the latest news directly from the show floor on new releases such as the Pro2 series.

The currently available N1 and N2 3D printers will still be available for the time being.
