weistekJust last week we published an article explaining how Puget Technologies has burst onto the 3D Printing scene with a bunch of press releases about their future release of 3D printers. We advised our readers to be a bit cautious about their promises. Today, Puget Technologies has announced that they are launching an ambassador program, starting this week. The program is looking to recruit beta testers for their new Weistek USA IdeaWerk high performance 3D printers.

“Our development team is working hard to ensure consumers have an unparalleled 3D printer experience,” said Ron Leyland, President and CEO of Puget Technologies. He added, “The highly advanced IdeaWerk 3D printer delivers on the promise of a superior product at an affordable price, with other soon-to-be-announced innovations consumers will appreciate.”

The printer promises features such as:
– Delivery of a modular product which can be easily assembled in minutes
– Full metal body and wear-resistant construction
– Touchscreen interface
– Up to 120 hours continuous print speed

The ‘Brand Ambassador’ program has been created to ‘help promote the brand and provide outreach on a grassroots level,’ according to the latest Puget press release.  Basically the company would like to get first hand feedback from beta testers, prior to releasing the printer in the United States.

“The maker community embodies shared learning motivated by enjoyment, creativity and self-realization,” said Ron Leyland, President and CEO of Puget Technologies. He added, “Puget Technologies strongly believes in this community interaction; we expect the Brand Ambassador Program to take on a life of its own and evolve into a channel for information sharing and exchange of ideas that will enhance these communities across the nation.”
