There are those of us who love technology. We enjoy the excitement of learning about new ways our lives will be made fuller with the help of clever new ideas. Then there are those of us who believe technology will be man’s ultimate demise. The latter of the two groups often believes that 3D printing will lead to a diminishing work force, as machines take over jobs which humans are no longer needed for. Although, in some cases this may be true, the new industry will also create a windfall of new jobs; jobs which were not needed before 3D printers emerged on the scene.
To highlight this necessity, that many companies have for employees who possess skills needed to operate in this new field, 3D-Printing-Jobs.com is about to launch. Its development was pushed forward by the Düsseldorf based start up 3DPJ. The new portal will cater towards those companies seeking employees to fill roles specifically related to 3D printing and rapid prototyping. For a fee, companies will be able to list openings, and target those qualified individuals who may be the perfect fit for their business.
3D-Printing-Jobs.com’s founder, Christoph Trautmann stated, “We consider ourselves to be a service provider to the 3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping Industry as a whole. For this very reason we decided to launch a campaign, generating attention not only for our own cause, but the industry and all associated companies at large. The enormous projected growth of the 3D printing industry requires qualified and well-trained professionals to be allocated to leading and aspiring companies in the field. We hope that our campaign contributes to that end.“
The portal will officially launch tomorrow, however several jobs have already been posted by companies like 3DHubs, Zortraz, and 3DLT. Employers looking to test the service out can take advantage of a 25% discount on all job ads until 15 June 2014. The different options available to businesses can be found here.
