Additive Manufacturing Strategies 2021 Moves Online, Adds Extra 3D Printing Vertical

Additive Manufacturing Strategies (AMS), the annual summit co-hosted by 3DPrint.com and SmarTech Analysis, is a conference focused on business intelligence for the additive manufacturing industry. The first year, AMS was held in Washington, D.C., but we’ve since moved the event to Boston, where it’s been held the last two years. We are now pleased to announce the dates of the fourth annual AMS, “The Business of 3D Printing,” which will be held February 9-12, 2021.

3DPrint.com and SmarTech have made the early decision to hold this year’s conference in a virtual format, and we’ve also added a fourth vertical topic day.

“As always, our objective for the AMS is that participants will come away highly knowledgeable on the very latest trends in additive manufacturing and full of innovative ideas that they can take back to their organizations,” the AMS 2021 site states.

After the February 8th pre-conference day, February 9th will focus exclusively on metals and other strong, new materials, and how compact metal 3D printers have evolved since AMS 2020. The second day of the summit is representative of a new direction for AMS, and will be all about automation, rapid manufacturing, and software.

“We will focus on how a new generation of AM will become part of the factory-of-the-future boosting throughput, controlling quality, reducing cost and speeding time to market. We will also hear how AM is transforming from being a batch process to a continuous process better fit for a volume production setting.”

AMS 2020 keynote

February 11th will be all about the business of 3D printing in the medical and dental industries—an even more relevant topic in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which has turned the world upside down but also shined a spotlight on our industry as makers, students, and corporations alike jumped in to the fray to offer assistance and keep the supply chain strong. So on the third day of AMS 2021, attendees will have the chance to hear what’s happened during this time, and what it means for the AM industry as a whole. Additionally, there will be panels on the newest 3D printing trends in the dental and medical spaces, as well as how the technology is being used to change up procedures at medical and dental offices, hospitals, and labs.

The final day of AMS 2021 will conclude with a focus on the many opportunities in the bioprinting space, which continues to move forward thanks to innovative researchers.

“In Day Four we will examine the latest trends in both bioprinters and printable biomaterials including coverage of novel materials just hitting the market and the emergence of desktop bioprinters. Day Four also provides coverage of the latest bioprinting applications including what the possibilities for vascularization offer.”

Each day of AMS 2021 will begin with a SmarTech analyst presenting the highly regarded market firm’s forecasts for the day’s topic, and the event will also feature an online Exhibition Hall, so attendees can see what latest AM products for biomaterials, dental and medical, and metals, in addition to automation and software developments. There will also be opportunities for networking, such as live keynote and panel discussion formats, live video Q&A sessions and demonstrations, real-time social sharing, and more.

We’re anticipating over 60 expert speakers for the online AMS 2021, so there are plenty of available opportunities if you’re interested in sharing your expertise. Let us know if you’re interested in sponsoring, exhibiting, or speaking at the summit.
