Who’s Investing in 3D Printing in 2025? The Buyers and Backers to Watch

(3DPrint.com PRO is available only to subscribers)

Funding for additive manufacturing (AM) isn’t as easy to come by as it was a few years ago. There are fewer deals, diligence is tougher, and investors want a clear path from printer to profit. Still, real money is moving. So the question is, who’s backing 3D printing in 2025? How are they doing it? What does that say about where the industry is headed?

The headline in 2025’s funding landscape could be “selectivity.” Investors are focusing their money on companies with solid technology, clear markets, and a path to scale. Defense, healthcare, and production-ready applications are, without a doubt, drawing the most attention. Software for AM design and automation is also starting to look like a winner.
