Q2 2016 Results for Dassault Systèmes In Line with Expectations, On the ‘High End’

Whether the energy is good or bad, there’s plenty of it as the big guns of the 3D technology industry continue to roll out second quarter results for 2016. While results for some may have indicated a rather unstable period—and perhaps more to come—companies like Dassault Systèmes certainly have little to worry about, other than boosting numbers higher than what they’d already expected.

In market news reporting from France, the figures are as follows in terms of performance:

Airbus is using 3DExperience to enhance their 3D design capabilities.

Judging from the content of their conference call discussing the results with investors, it’s safe to say that the company is feeling positive about this quarter—and more so about the future as they continue to strategize on how to make the numbers rise further. Obviously, the 3DExperience platform is a major source of bread and butter. With licensing ongoing around the world, they are able to offer this not just to large corporations like Airbus but even entire countries, such as India potentially, as the platform is designed to be integrated into government platforms at either the central or local level.

Dassault indicated that results were in accordance with their guidance, and as every company likes to have the chance to say regarding numbers and predictions: they were on the high end.

“We were pleased with the performance from an EPS perspective growing 12% excluding currency effects,” said Thibault de Tersant, Senior EVP, CFO at Dassault. “We demonstrated our ongoing focus on underlying operating margin performance.”

“We also had strong recurring software revenue growth. But while new licenses revenue growth was solid at 6% excluding currency effects and in line with guidance, it is not exactly where we want to be.”

The French company will of course be looking ahead to increase the volume of software licenses emanating from 3DExperience in the second half of this year, indicating there is already even more positive progress in that direction.

Pointing out that 3DExperience is a clear winner for them, globally, the Dassault Systèmes team will continue to work on integrating it into industries such as:

And not to be excluded, startups and smaller corporations fit into their plans for expansion as well.

The CFO points out also that their diversification industries also brought in strong results this quarter and for the entire first half, as did the Enovia portfolio, as a key contributor to the growth of 3DEXPERIENCE sales and their overall diversification.

2016 Financial Objectives were reaffirmed as follows:

“It is clear that we are building momentum in the different industries,” de Tersant pointed out in conclusion.
