Thinking of themselves as the best of all worlds in 3D downloads–as if one combined Shapeways and Thingiverse–Kwambio is on a mission to give users a unique, improved experience. While your simple goal is to find an awesome file and 3D print it, Kwambio has integrated some innovative features. Not only can you choose that file to 3D print, but you can be guaranteed it will print on your 3D printer, and in just a few clicks you can also customize and personalize it however you would like, with no 3D modeling skills required.
You can change the 3D object in terms of size, shape, pattern, color, and more–even including adding text on products. You can share, follow your favorite designers, and enjoy the power of creativity all around.
“Our service allows users to enrich their buying experience through social engagement, including offering news feeds, following preferred designers, and sharing their own personalized creations,” the Kwambio team told 3DPrint.com. “We combine the best of Shapeways and Thingiverse.”
Upon today’s launch of Kwambio, as they “bring personal relations to manufacturing on a global scale,” users will be able to peruse hundreds of designs that they can make unique to themselves and 3D print from the comfort of the office, home, or workshop. Kwambio has also partnered with Materialise for on-demand ordering, with 18 different materials available–even to include ceramics and wood.
“We created Kwambio because we wanted to give everyone a chance to own their story through the products in their lives,” they said. “Individuality comes from within, and people need a simple tool to create things unique to themselves.”
