This winter, Additive Manufacturing Strategies, the annual business intelligence for AM summit held by SmarTech Analysis and 3DPrint.com, will be moving to an online format. AMS 2021, “The Business of 3D Printing,” will be held February 9-12, 2021, with a pre-conference day on the 8th. You’re not too late to take advantage of early bird registration opportunities for the conference, but rates will be going up on October 21st. Each day of the conference will be dedicated to a different vertical, and a SmarTech analyst will start things off every morning with a forecast presentation on the featured topic of the day.

February 8th will be a special networking day for both attendees and exhibitors ahead of the conference, and February 9th will focus on metals and other strong, new materials, in addition to how compact metal 3D printers have evolved since AMS 2020. Automation, rapid manufacturing, and software will be featured on February 10th, and the third day of AMS 2021, February 11th, will be all about the business of 3D printing, and the latest trends in the dental and medical industries. As the summit closes on February 12th, the focus of the day will be on the bioprinting field. Obviously, with all that 3D printing has done to help during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, these last two verticals will be extremely relevant.

Even though this year’s AMS summit will be held in a virtual format, there will still be plenty of time and opportunity for networking. Each day, the online Networking Lounge and Exhibition Hall will be open from 11 am to 3:30 pm, and you just need to hover over the area of any company you’re interested in speaking with, and you will be automatically brought into the face-to-face video conversation currently taking place in the booth with the host staff. Exhibitors will still be able to showcase their latest AM products for biomaterials, dental and medical, and metals, in addition to new automation and software developments, and attendees can also hover over seating areas in the Coffee Bar to join others in real-time conversations. Once you’ve signed into the live conference site with your password, everything will be automatic, so you won’t need to download any software to take part in virtual networking. Check out the mock-up image below of the Networking Lounge for the upcoming IQT Europe event held by 3DR Holdings and QuTech. It’s very similar to what we’ll be featuring at AMS 2021.

IQT Europe is going above and beyond with an “almost-like-live” exhibit hall – mock up of the Networking Lounge.

We’re expecting there to be more than expert speakers for the online AMS 2021, so there are plenty of available opportunities if you’re interested in sharing your expertise. Let us know if you’d like to be a sponsor, exhibitor, or speaker at the summit. Remember, the early bird registration of just $69 for all five days goes away on October 21st!
