Inside 3D Printing New York is coming up in exactly one month, which means that if you have a frontier technology startup and a great idea for a business plan, start preparing your application – the submission deadline for Frontier Tech Showdown is just a few days away. The top eight startups will each have the chance to pitch for five minutes at the conference, which will be held at the New York Javits Convention Center. Early-stage venture capital company Asimov Ventures will present the winner of the Frontier Tech Showdown with the $15,000 SAFE. All told, previous contest winners, and contestants, have raised a combined amount of nearly $100 million!

One of the entrants from last year’s New York competition, biotechnology company Cellink.eu, subsequently had a successful IPO on the Swedish Nasdaq. Another previous winner is 3D Hubs; right after it won first place in the inaugural Startup Competition, the company, which can provide one billion people access to a 3D printer within ten miles of home, experienced great growth and raised $4.5 million.
