3D Hubs Rings in the New Year: Events in Bend, Melbourne, Breda, and Paris

3dhubsIt’s that time of the week to update our readers on 3D printing events sponsored by 3D Hubs. The holidays have passed, and whether you took time off from your 3D printing hobby or job, or took the opportunity to do some serious recreational printing in your downtime between roasting chestnuts and sipping eggnog, 3D Hubs is ready to get people into the 2016 swing with four upcoming events. Check out the following opportunities to catch yourself up on the latest developments in global 3D printing.

3D Hubs Strong & Flexible Event | Bend, Oregon

Strong & Flexible filament bends well, and Community Mayor Mike wants the Bend community to come check it out for themselves on Saturday, January 9 from 2:00-4:00! The event takes place at the High Desert Maker Mill, where people can check out this material’s applications as well as receive a $20 voucher toward a high-def print from 3D Hubs. There are early bird ($5.00) and standard ($7.50) tickets available still, so if you are reading this before 2:00 pm PST time, head on over to the Maker Mill! It’s not too late!

3D Hubs Meetup | Melbourne, Australia

If you are lucky enough to be 3D printing in or near Melbourne, the meetup is a great place to network. On January 10, from 4:00-7:00 pm, “3dprintinguy” invites you to join him in a BYOB BBQ at 210 Whitehall Street. This is the Footscray Maker Lab, and people will be exchanging information, catching up on all things 3D printing, and chowing on some excellent grub. What could be better?

Recycling Misprints | Breda, The Netherlands

Now, maybe you are new to 3D printing and have not yet mastered that learning curve, which means you may have plenty of misprints that you do not know what to do with. Even seasoned printers sometimes make mistakes, as they experiment with new projects that result in plenty of mistakes along the way. Never fear: recycling is here! On January 19, from 7:30-10:00 pm, Fab Lab Breda invites you to a workshop on how to recycle your 3D misprints. How practical is that? Come meet some new friends, laugh about the funny mishaps you have had along the way, and leave with some cool ideas about how to rectify this situation through the beautiful act of recycling misprints.

3D Hubs for Designers and Architects | Paris, France

The next event is not until January 28, but we wanted to give you fair warning because everyone is looking forward to it around 3D Hubs Paris! On January 28 from 7:00-9:00 PM, 3D Hubs is hosting a meeting for “creatives, designers and architects, and all those who seek to take advantage of 3D printing in their work.” Participants will have the chance to meet key players in 3D design and printing. Nicolas Grimmer, the Community Mayor, announces speakers that include himself, Pierre Ayroles and Hugo Fromont from Cultsa marketplace connecting 3D models designers and individuals wishing to print 3D objects — and Sculpteo will also have representatives present. There will also be a surprise guest announced soon! Don’t miss this big event in the City of Lights!  Let us know if you will be attending any of these events in the 3D Hubs Events for January forum thread on 3DPB.com.

Mark your calendars for January 28, please!
