In recent months we’ve followed Printrbot as they’ve brought us numerous new releases, produced an educational initiative, and have been the subject of a long long list of positive headlines due to ongoing and very proactive momentum in their company.

Also long–and both exciting and beneficial for both current and future users–is the list of new upgrades and products just released by Printrbot, a company that’s been on the path to success since they launched their historically lucrative Kickstarter campaign back in 2011. They continue to offer more and more to their wide range of users today, along with other great new features and upgrades allowing for further versatility.

Play Heated Bed Upgrade

If you are a Printrbot user, it only takes a glance to see that this is a company with a plan, and one that really includes looking out for their customer base in a dynamic way. If you are interested in buying the Play starter kit, they are now available for $199–as the company challenges you to build your own ‘Frankenbot,’ with all of the essentials at an amazing price.

If you already own the Printrbot Play 3D printer, you can upgrade to a heated bed for only $49. And if you are looking to expand even more, with heated bed still optional, you can now increase the build volume on your Printrbot Play to 4 x 8 x 5 (X, Y, Z). For around $75, you are able to double the size of the Y-axis printable area.

Simple X Axis Upgrade (heated bed optional)

If you own a Printrbot Simple 3D player, new options are available there as well. Are you interested in increasing the build volume of your Printrbot Simple to 150 x 150 x 250 (X, Y, Z)? If the answer is yes, you need only fork over $75 and you are on your way to bigger and better prints. Along with that, you can take it further, increasing the build volume of your Printrbot Simple to 250 x 150 x 150 (X, Y, Z) with an expenditure of around $125 or less.

And coming soon on the list is the Printrbot Crawlbot. Described by the company as ‘big and small,’ the upcoming CNC router cuts 4 x 8′ material and while it’s not out quite yet, with the price not yet released, Printrbot expects that their customers are really going to enjoy this machine, which will also offer cloud-powered project sharing. Designed entirely in Autodesk’s Fusion 360, the Crawlbot is meant to offer users the ability to complete big projects from a compact machine that they promise will take up a very small footprint in your garage or workshop.
