Tobeca has informed 3DPrint.com that they will be releasing a new 3D printer, the Tobeca 2, on July 15th. It will carry a price tag of 699€ unassembled and 999€ fully assembled, and it will include additional add-ons that the original Tobeca does not include.
“The specs are quite the same as the Tobeca but it’ll allow dual extrusion as an option, a new PCB heated bed (custom designed), [and] a better structure with machined parts in aluminium,” explained Adrien Grelet, manager at Tobeca, to 3DPrint.com.
Grelet also told us that they will be targeting both personal 3D printer users, as well as small businesses.
The new Tobeca 2 will feature the following improvements over the original:
- Aluminum profile rails
- Dual print heads for dual extrusion
- Aluminum junctions between Z and X axis which aid in prevention of vibrations
- Larger build volume (200 x 200 x 250mm)
- Improved shock absorbsion in corners of the case
- Ability to print with either 3mm or 1.75mm filament
- Quick release plate heater – performed on PCB eposxy 3mm in order to reduce heating time (reaches 100C in 3 minutes)
The Tobeca 2 features a wooden plywood 9mm plastic faced case, which makes it perfect to carry with you on the go. Here are some more specifications:

This appears to be a high quality 3D printer capable of traveling with you no matter where you have to go.
