Tobeca 2 3D Printer Set to Launch on July 15th – Features Dual Extrusion – Starting at 699€

tobeca2When most people think of consumer level 3D printers, they think of companies such as MakerBot, Cubify, Ultimaker, etc. Every single day, it seems as though we are hearing about new, up-and-coming brands of 3D printers though. One French company, Tobeca hopes to become one of the more well known 3D printer manufacturers in the world. They have been known for their portable 3D printer, also called the Tobeca. It is a completely portable machine that can fold up and turn into a suitcase-like carrying case. This machine has been available since last year, and has been priced at 899€, fully assembled.

Tobeca has informed 3DPrint.com that they will be releasing a new 3D printer, the Tobeca 2, on July 15th. It will carry a price tag of 699€ unassembled and 999€ fully assembled, and it will include additional add-ons that the original Tobeca does not include.

“The specs are quite the same as the Tobeca but it’ll allow dual extrusion as an option, a new PCB heated bed (custom designed), [and] a better structure with machined parts in aluminium,” explained Adrien Grelet, manager at Tobeca, to 3DPrint.com.

Grelet also told us that they will be targeting both personal 3D printer users, as well as small businesses.

The new Tobeca 2 will feature the following improvements over the original:

The Tobeca 2 features a wooden plywood 9mm plastic faced case, which makes it perfect to carry with you on the go. Here are some more specifications:

This appears to be a high quality 3D printer capable of traveling with you no matter where you have to go. We don’t see many 3D printers that are easily able to be moved, thus this makes the Tobeca 2 a unique commodity. What do you think? Have you used the original Tobeca 3D printer? Would you consider purchasing the Tobeca 2? Discuss in the Tobeca 2 forum thread on 3DPB.com
