Here at 3DPrint.com we attend numerous events each year at which I have personally been able to meet many extraordinary people within the industry, witness some of the most advanced technology on the market, and make friendships that will last a lifetime. By far, our favorite events we’ve attended thus far are the Inside 3D Printing Conference and Expos. Since its inception back in 2013, Inside 3D Printing has traveled the globe, presenting the most advanced and state-of-the-art technologies to those in attendance as well as hosting key notes and conferences by some of the most influential individuals within the industry.
Next month, however, Inside 3D Printing is stepping things up a notch, presenting New York City with an entire week of events and conferences related to the amazing technology. ‘3DPrintWeek New York‘ is what this series of 3D printing related events is being called, and even the New York City Economic Development Corporation has endorsed the event and sponsored it.

In order to choose which one of the dozens of incredible designers using the MyMiniFactory site gets to tag along with them, the company has launched a competition. As a part of this competition, not only will 5 designers get to show their work off in front of thousands of visitors at 3DPrintWeek, but the top designer will also receive $500 in cash.
For those of you interested in participating, you will have until April 2nd to submit a design via the MyMiniFactory website. There are also a few simple rules to follow to ensure one’s eligibility.
- If your design consists of multiple parts, then you must submit STL files for each part along with assembly diagrams and instructions.
- Each part of the design must be small enough to fit with a 7 x 7 x 7 inch build envelope.
- If a special material is required, e.g., Ninjaflex, PLA, etc., or a special process is needed to be done during or prior to printing, you must state this in the design’s description box.
Winners will be announced on April 8th, and the Inside 3D printing Conference and Expos at 3DPrintWeek will take place April 15-17. Let us know if you’ve submitted a design for this competition. Feel free to show your design off in the MyMiniFactory Contest forum thread on 3DPB.com. We’ll see you all at 3DPrintWeek next month!
