Like MakerBot, MecklerMedia is one of the pioneers within the 3D printing space, not for creating hardware, software, or even 3D printable designs. They are one of the first companies to hold 3D printing exclusive trade shows. Run by CEO Alan Meckler, the company holds their well known Inside 3D Printing Conference and Expo all throughout the world, with upcoming shows in Berlin, Sao Paulo, London, Melbourne, Seoul, and this April, a show to top them all, in New York City.
This April, MecklerMedia is going all out with what they are calling ‘3D Print Week NY‘, which is an all encompassing event including; a free-to-attend/free-to-exhibit 3D Print Design Show and 3D Print Fashion Show (sponsored by Materialise). The ‘3D Print Week NY’ event has received the attention of the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), who is sponsoring it in order to promote the growth of 3D printing in New York City. Also as one of the shows going on for this larger event, is Inside 3D Printing Conference New York.
I had the opportunity to attend the Inside 3D Printing Conference in New York last April, and I walked away thoroughly impressed. I was able to listen to some of the industry leaders talk about various 3D printing related topics, while also getting to see all of the latest 3D printing technology in action on the showroom floor. This year’s show will be even bigger, with MakerBot playing a very large role.
It should certainly be interesting to see what Lawton and the rest of the MakerBot team have in store for this event, as well as what some of the other large 3D printing companies will have on display.
3D Print Week NY will be taking place from April 15-17, and I would definitely recommend you attend if you have any interest in 3D printing. Will you be in attendance? Are you looking forward to MakerBot’s presence? Discuss in the 3D Print Week NY forum on 3DPB.com.
