AMCM, headquartered in Munich, is founded on a mission to push the limits of additive manufacturing (AM) processes for their customers. With an AM facility that has recently been expanded, production is centered around Direct Metal Laser Solidification (DMLS) printers.
Customized and designed to be capable of high-performance additive manufacturing, both the AMCM M 4K-1 (single laser) and AMCM M 4K-4 (four laser) industrial DMLS metal 3D printing platforms are based on the EOS M 400 series, featuring a “robust” frame design, a new filter system, and the choice of soft recoating.
Currently in production, the M 4K platform is capable of producing sophisticated and complex parts on a large scale (up to one meter or 39.37 inches high), using a variety of metals, to include:
- Aluminum (AlSi10Mg)
- Nickel alloy (IN718)
- Copper alloy (CuCr1Zr)
“What customers can appreciate is that its underpinnings are that of the EOS M 400 processes— which are the benchmark for metal 3D printing,” said Martin Bullemer, managing director of AMCM. “Our team is extremely proud of this system now producing the biggest, highest quality metal powder-bed 3D printing applications in the world.”

AMCM has collaborated with other companies such as Launcher, 3D printing the world’s largest E-2 liquid rocket engine chamber via DMLS.
“The AMCM M 4K solved for both our desire to 3D print a tall combustion chamber in a single piece, and produce it in a copper material,” said Launcher CEO, Max Haot. “Printing in a single piece reduces cost and enables the highest performance regenerative cooling design.”
The E-2 project continues for Launcher, participating as part of an Air Force Phase II SBIR, with further evaluation occurring later this year at NASA Stennis.
“In addition to the AMCM M 4K platform, AMCM is pushing the limits of additive manufacturing (AM) technology producing other high-performance, customized industrial 3D printers based on EOS technology,” states the company in their latest press release shared with 3DPrint.com.
