Tiertime’s UP 300 3D Printer Available for Purchase in the United States

Beijing-based manufacturing and prototyping solutions provider Tiertime, which also has an office in the US, works hard to provide affordable, high quality, easy-to-use 3D printing solutions to a multitude of fields, including aerospace and engineering, thanks to its global distribution network of over 50 countries. The company is a popular manufacturer of  desktop 3D printers, including its UP BOX and UP mini 2.

At RAPID + TCT in Texas this spring, in addition to a new software/hardware combination called Tiertime Print Queue, the company showcased three new additions to its 3D printer lineup – the UP mini 2 ES, the continuous X5 3D printing system, and the UP300. In July, Tiertime announced that the first of these three new 3D printers was available for purchase in both the United States and Europe, and now it’s making the same announcement for another one of its desktop systems.

The UP300 has now been released in the US, and is available from authorized dealers and in Tiertime’s online store. The 3D printer will be released in Europe sometime next month.

“We took everything we knew professionals and educators liked about our previous machines – the high-quality ABS printing, the air filtration, the large build size, the ease-of-use – and made it better. Then we added new technology to enhance the user experience and provide additional value,” Joseph Guo, the International Sales and Marketing Director for Tiertime, said about the UP300.

The UP300 has the line’s largest build volume at 205 × 255 × 225 mm, and is the result of plenty of customer feedback and research. The 3D printer has lots of next-generation features, and is also the company’s first 3D printer to include flexible filaments, three interchangeable print heads, and extruders designed specifically for high temperature 3D printing.

The desktop 3D printer provides an exceptional 3D printing performance with a range of different materials, and also offers plenty of brand new features in addition to its three purpose-specific print heads.

Guo explained, “Our engineers spent a great deal of time studying optimal extruder designs and concluded there is no such thing as one size fits all. The requirements for printing with something like polycarbonate are not necessarily best for printing with a flexible like TPU.

“Initial response has been fantastic. Professionals have been buying enclosed UP printers for years thanks to reliable ABS printing. Now they can achieve the same, consistent output using an extensive variety of materials.”

Some of the other features that the UP300 boasts include adjustable layer heights from 50 to 400 microns, a removable waste collection tray located below the print bed, an Ethernet port for wired LAN connectivity, and an enhanced touchscreen, complete with an on-board Linux operating system that can receive programming updates for adding to the touchscreen’s menu and carrying out any future innovations.

The UP300 has a well-designed enclosure that helps optimize the heat retention in the build chamber, which lowers the risk of parts warping and air leaking out. It also feature’s Tiertime’s most robust air filtration system, which comes with separate easy to use, high capacity HEPA and activated carbon filters that lower both UFP and VOC emissions.

Additionally, the UP300 comes with two rigid, double-sided build plates, which are easily installed and removed thanks to easy-grip handles. Each one has a glass side that’s perfect for raftless 3D printing, while the other sides are the company’s traditional flex and perf surfaces to ensure first layer adhesion. Tiertime’s unique Print Queue user interface is also included, which is accessible from both the touchscreen and UP studio and can control a series of print jobs that have been assigned to the 3D printer by multiple authorized users.

Finally, the UP300 3D printer allows users to save pre-sliced print jobs as TSK files, which is a new format that includes such details as infill, layer height, and print quality. The 3D printer includes a second USB port for reading these files from a memory stick for computer-free operation.

In addition to this myriad of new features, users can also enjoy traditional the Tiertime 3D printer offerings such as multiple nozzles, WiFi connectivity, automatic bed calibration and leveling, printer pause and resume, and out-of-filament detection…making the UP300 the company’s most flexible, advanced, and complete 3D printer ever.

The UP300 is available to purchase for $2,199.
