XYZprinting, the company behind the da Vinci line of 3D printers, had a large booth set up at this year’s “Inside 3D Printing,” conference. There, the company showed off all three of their machines, which included the da Vinci 1.0, 2.0, and latest addition 2.1.

The innovation doesn’t stop there though. In a statement made by Gary Shu, senior manger of market development at XYZprinting, to Computerworld this week, he revealed something that many 3D printing enthusiasts have been hoping to hear. Gary told Computerworld, that by the end of this year they hope to be able to launch an all-in-one 3D printer/scanner combo. Such a device would
“Our aim is to improve the speed, quality and usability of our printers,” Shu told Computerworld. “Also, we’re hoping to add different applications…and 3D scanners are a hot topic right now.”
There is no doubt that this market is becoming extremely competitive. This could be seen this week at the “Inside 3D Printing,” conference and expo, where there were a large number of 3D printer companies on hand, many pitching very similar products.
