“CREAT3D brings deep expertise in providing 3D printing solutions to the market. Together, we look forward to collaborating on new ways to make full colour 3D printing more accessible to all,” said Dr. Conor MacCormack, the Co-founder and CEO of Mcor Technologies.
Together at TCT this week, Mcor and CREAT3D will be showcasing the power of full-color 3D printing, as CREAT3D will demonstrate the ARKe at booth C56. As Mcor’s new reselling partner, CREAT3D will be adding the ARKe to its showroom, and also providing customers in England and Wales with printing, support, and training services.
Its reselling partnership with CREAT3D is not the only news Mcor is sharing at TCT this week – the company was selected to showcase the power of the new Sony Xperia XZ1 3D scanning app at the technology show. The new Xperia XZ1 smartphone was introduced earlier this month at IFA, and comes with a brand new feature called the 3D Creator app that will make full-color 3D printing even more accessible.Simon Chandler, the Managing Director of CREAT3D, said, “We are thrilled to add the Mcor ARKe to our 3D printer offering. Our customers seek full colour 3D printing at an affordable price and the ARKe best meets this need. We look forward to expanding our range further by offering the full colour desktop 3D printer.”
The pre-loaded 3D Creator app can generate realistic, high resolution 3D scans of people and objects in less than 60 seconds. 3D scans are saved in .OBJ format, so they’re compatible with just about any 3D printer, and it includes lots of fun options, like creating an avatar in the camera augmented reality effects options, which you can then set as live wallpaper, share as a 3D sticker on social media, and even 3D print as a full-color keepsake. It even has four separate scanning modes – face, head, freeform, and food – so users will be able to get the best quality possible.Dr. MacCormack said, “Sony’s 3D Creator app will certainly open the market for full colour 3D printing by providing an accessible scanner that produces high quality files – essentially a 1000 scans in your pocket. We see this as a driver for full colour 3D printing and our technology in an industrial and consumer setting because now there is a scanner to hand that can match our full colour 3D printing capability.”
“With over 70 years’ heritage of innovation in technology, Sony continues to allow consumers to capture special moments and memories in continually evolving ways,” said Ciaran Cleary, Account Director at Sony Mobile Communications Ireland. “We are capturing more content on mobile than ever before and the 3D Creator feature, a first for smartphone, allows builders, makers, creatives and consumers an easy way to scan or print captured memories.”
At its shared booth C56 with CREAT3D, Mcor will demo the Sony Xperia XZ1’s new 3D Creator scanning app at the TCT Show this week. It will be showcased next to the Mcor ARKe 3D printer, in order to demonstrate the output quality from the app.
