PrintRite3D Continues to Change Advanced Manufacturing as Sigma Labs Partners with Jaguar Precision Machine Corporation

swm-sigmaTwo is better than one, or so the saying goes. Collaborations, alliances, partnerships, what have you – these work because each party brings its own unique strengths to the table; or, to quote a different saying, there is strength in numbers. Working together is especially important in the ever-developing world of 3D printing technology. Recently, New Mexico-based Sigma Labs, one of the biggest quality assurance software providers, teamed up with Morf3D, so the additive manufacturing developer could improve its AM services by using Sigma Labs’ metal AM process monitoring software, PrintRite3D. Sigma Labs just announced a new partner: it has entered a commercial alliance with Jaguar Precision Machine Corporation.

A precision prototype machining facility, Jaguar Precision Machine Corporation is also headquartered in New Mexico, and specializes in manufacturing high-precision components for aerospace and defense applications. It has a 25-year history of machining complex parts with high quality, and also works with the robotics and medical industries.

“Partnering with Sigma Labs is a critical step for Jaguar in developing our branded ‘3D Advanced Manufacturing Ecosystem’ capabilities,” said Jaguar CEO and owner Dan Schatzman. “Sigma Labs’ proprietary PrintRite3D software will enable us to offer our customers high-quality 3D printed parts for end use A&D components, and we believe our combined expertise will give our customers the best solutions for additive manufacturing.”

The alliance will allow Sigma Labs to continue growing its suite of advanced manufacturing services. Its PrintRite3D software continues to expand, with the latest version recently released at formnext; Sigma Labs went public seven years ago, when it first commercialized the software. Jaguar is bringing its many advanced manufacturing capabilities to the strategic alliance, such as manual and CNC milling and turning, 4-axis EDM machining, heat treating, welding, and, of course, additive manufacturing. This will let Sigma Labs provide its high-profile clients with end-to-end 3D advanced component manufacturing, such as inspection, engineering, CAD, and CAM capabilities.

Mark Cola, President and CEO of Sigma Labs, said of the alliance, “We’re pleased to announced a partnership agreement with another innovative company in the A&D space, Jaguar Precision Machine. Due to the growth in demand for high-precision, high-quality metal components within this industry, we’ve decided to join forces to better serve a number of OEMs with their next-generation applications. Working together, we can design, engineer, manufacture, and assure the quality of AM components across a number of exciting A&D applications. The team of companies – Sigma Labs, Jaguar Precision Machine, and Morf3D – now have the capability to deliver additional services to a broad customer case.”

In turn, Jaguar will be able to provide its customers with the same consistent part quality, but with increased production rates, thanks to Sigma Labs’ proprietary software and 3D printing know-how. Jaguar and Sigma Labs will work together in order to make high-precision 3D printed parts to “demanding specifications.” The contracts for the alliance are expected later this year.
