XYZprinting Brings the da Vinci Mini and miniMaker 3D Printers to Best Buy and Toys”R”Us, Announces Black Friday Deals

Not only is XYZprinting one of the most prolific 3D printer manufacturers in the industry, they’re also rapidly becoming one of the most widespread. No matter where you are in the United States, it’s not hard to find a retailer carrying one or more models from XYZprinting’s popular da Vinci line of 3D printers. If you stopped by any Barnes & Noble location earlier this month for the second annual Mini Maker Faire, you would have gotten the opportunity to see a live demo of the da Vinci Jr. 1.0w, the latest to be added to the bookseller’s stock of XYZ printers. The da Vinci Mini 3D printer, officially released in September, is now available at 95 Best Buy locations across the United States. The lightweight, compact desktop printer has already been racking up awards in its first year of existence, and there’s a lot to like about it. Described as being ideal for both beginners and more experienced makers, the Mini features a sturdy aluminum print bed with a print volume of 5.9 x 5.9 x 5.9 inches, giving users a lot of flexibility in terms of what they can make, from toys to prototypes.

The $289.95 da Vinci Mini boasts several user-friendly features, such as wireless connectivity and an auto-calibration mechanism that automatically and accurately determines the distance between the nozzle and print bed for optimal print quality.

If you visit one of the 95 Best Buy locations currently displaying the da Vinci Mini, you can get a look at how well it prints, as it will be set up in continuous demo mode. You can also see some 3D printed examples and watch a quick promotional video while deciding whether you’d like to try it out for yourself.

Over at Toys”R”Us, the brightly colored da Vinci miniMaker fits right in with the other toys on the shelves – but it’s a lot more functional and educational than most. It’s the first 3D printer in the STEM toy category, according to XYZprinting, which developed it specifically for children and educators. Although it may be classified as a toy, its capabilities are right up there with those of the da Vinci Mini – it has the same 5.9 x 5.9 x 5.9-inch build volume, auto-calibration feature and high resolution (up to 100 microns) print quality. At $249.95, it’s also highly affordable for both schools and families looking to introduce their kids to 3D printing.
